Hi Lula :hello: I am fairly happy about Icesave and will be glad when we get the money back, I’d rather it was in my account than theirs.
On to today, not a NSD I’m afraid. We have got playgroup this morning whilst DS is at school; I ‘borrowed’ a £1 off DH but I have noticed that I need to get some milk for the kids so am going to need to get some money out of the cash machine, it’s the first time this week so I am going to get £20 out instead of £30 and see how long it lasts me.
We had chicken casserole last night made with the chicken that DH bought at the weekend and the veg from the market last week, so a cheap and cheerful dinner and DH has taken some for lunch, he told me that they have got a new microwave on site now also the kids are having some for lunch despite DS protesting and no doubt DD will kick off too…oh hum!
Have a good day everyone and I’ll update later.0 -
I didn't realise you'd had money trapped in Icesave - thank heavens you can get it back - and good for you for making overpayments, you're starting to sound like Hypno there!
Cheap and cheerful yummies sound good. I do like the idea of microwaves for lunchtime meals, so nice to have something hot.
See you later.

Yes we have an ISA each courtesy of DH's late father and I also had a Christmas fund with them.and good for you for making overpayments, you're starting to sound like Hypno there!
Both DH and I don't want this hanging over us so the agreement was to try and get it paid off ASAP and now due to the other weekend we are going to get rid the sooner the better.Cheap and cheerful yummies sound good. That will be good for DH as long as they don't blow the microwave up again like the last one.0 -
Hi all,
I have been to playgroup and Tesco's, I spent £11.37 out of £20 in there but I couldn't resisit the lamb leg that I saw, it was £5+ but is enough to do a hotpot and do DH for lunch as well, so that's dinner one day next week sorted.
I have been on the snowball calculator and if we continue to make the overpayments that we do, we will be debt free by December 2012
I also reasoned that if DH gets a reasonable bonus this year, they currently have enough work to keep them going for the next three years, then I will transfer some of it over to SiL and get it down a bit more.
Tomorrow is a NSD as I do not need to go anywhere (she says).
Catch you later,
Tea

Hi Purpletea, I've not posted on your diary before, but have just read through from the beginning.
I shuddered when I saw you had money with Icesave, so pleased you will be getting it back.
Good news that your back op was a success and you do sound more mobile.
Did you try the curry sauce, we really like it here. Mr Twit will eat curry, but doesn't like it too spicy, so the smartprice one is ideal. I use the pickings from a roast chicken, chop up a tin of new potatoes quite small, throw in some frozen veg, peas, sweetcorn, carrots etc and mix in a jar of the curry. It's ready in about half an hour and I serve with rice....a really cheap tea.
We also like the sweet and sour one with a load of frozen sliced peppers and some tinned pineapple and the frozen veg.
Take care and I will pop in tomorrow to see if it is a NSD

Hi Whatatwit,
Your user name is rather apt for me the majority of the time :rotfl:
I haven't yet tried the curry sauce, I keep forgetting that we have it. I tend to have a jar of curry in the cupboard as an easy thing to do when we have nothing else in. Might have to dig that out and add it to next weeks dinner menu...we can always have a pizza out of the freezer if we don't like it.
Thanks for reminding me. I think that I will also do a stocktake of the cupboard and see what we have and see what I can do with it.
I have now changed all beds and I have the washing up to do and dinner to make for tonight and another load of washing to do.0 -
On to another day and some more money saving
Today I am planning a NSD; I haven’t got to go anywhere today apart from taking DS to school. Plan is as follows:- Tea break
- Finish washing from yesterday
- Wash up
- Tea break
- Hoover downstairs
- More tea
- Sort something for dinner out of cupboards – risotto looks favourite and I can use the remainder of the veg out of the fridge.
Have managed to complete a few surveys yesterday and have earned a bit more money, DH & I don’t quite have enough to redeem through Lightspeed so we need some more there but One Poll is building up quite nicely
Right off to get motivated and try and stop yawning.
Will update later.0 -
Hiya!
Haven't done anything yet, I've got another one of these sick headaches, tho its just wearing off now. I'm sure today that its spending too much time on the computer, I'm going to have to limit myself to an hour or so at a time, with a good long break in between. Well, my kitchen will benefit, anyway. When I've recovered from this one, at any rate.

Hi Karmacat :grouphug: hugs to you, hope that it wears off very quick for you. Just a thought have you been to see the doctor? I used to suffer terrible headaches a few years ago and it turned out that my Vitamin B levels were low, failing that have you had your eyes tested? that could also cause the headaches.
DS is now safely at school and the washer is on and there is a load in the tumble drier, I have a cup of tea and then I am going to do the washing up which is currently soaking in hot water.
DD is currently watching Mickey Mouse.

So far so good, got the majority of my list doneDD and I are going to pick up DS from school shortly and have lunch, then I can tackle the rest of my list - the kids are having left over cottage pie from last night and DH took some to work for lunch too.
