People, you can congratulate me. I have finally succeeded in getting the loo totally free of limescale!!!:j :j :j It's taken me ages, giving it a few minutes scrub (my hands won't take more than that) as often as possible, but finally we got there! Sad, innit, that I can get excited about a limescale-free loo.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

smoky - I think that everyone else on here has put it so eloquently. I won't even try to do any better. You have everyone's support on here. (((hugs)))

stefejb - tell us when we all need to buy a hat! :D

I am supposed to be getting ready for school next week. The children aren't back until Wednesday, but I'm trying to get some divine inspiration of what to do to "break them in gently". :D Class rules will be a good one. :rotfl:

It's "fat Friday" for DH today. His boss always gets pizzas in for lunch on the last Friday of the month, so tonight's supper will be soup! He also goes to the pub after work for a swift half of coke, so I tend to have a relaxing evening until he gets home.

DH and I had a little bit of money left over from our holiday, so we're using it towards a cheap few days in France over half term. I had to write an e-mail in French  which I haven't done since I did my A-levels 11 years ago. Luckily, it seems that the (cheap) place that I booked at understood my valiant efforts at the language. It was so poor that I have bought myself a second hand french grammar book from Oxfam today! I might stand half a chance of having a conversation at some point.

Right, I'd better carry on looking for divine inspiration for assessing my new class.....................

    Hello All

Well, I know I haven't been here for a little while, I have lurked a little but I started getting PMs so I thought I'd better explain myself. I have actually written this post about a dozen times in the last week then deleted it instead of posting. So if this doesn't make a lot of sense I'm sorry, but at least I've managed to click on 'submit' rather than 'back'. Here goes

I don't know if I told people here but I suffer from a mental illness and have spent the last six months recovering from a particularly black time in my life. I can't begin to describe it but I have days when I'll be in pits of despair, days where I think I'm superwoman, days where I'll be up in the air and then down at the bottom within the space of a few hours. But the last week or so I've been mainly down. And I have been avoiding having to tell people because that makes it easier to pretend its not happening. I can't really explain what its like but I can't be happy ro positive at all and think about posting and saying whats going on and then wonder what the point of it is anyway and think noone will care even though I know that that's not really true. And then when I feel more positive the thought of having to explain myself brings me down all over again and I worry about being seen as just this moaning miserable person because when I'm not having an episode like this I'm not anything like that, and then I end up feeling like I can't do anything at all. And then the longer this goes on the harder it gets to jump back in. So I'm sorry for avoiding everyone and I hope I haven't annoyed you by not sharing such a big thing in my life especially when everyone has always been so caring here.

Silvercharming it's nice to see you posting again. If it helps at all, I can understand exactly where you're coming from. Funnily enough, I was just thinking about you this morning, and wondering how you and your OH are doing now?

No you have not annoyed anyone by posting that, it was extremely brave of you, I have been wondering where you have been and thinking of you. No one on here is wonder woman, we all have our ups and downs, and days where we can't cope and do nothing all day, the thing is though we do all come on here and post and keep each others spirits up, even if you come on and say that you are not having a good day, we will at least know that you are ok. Hugs to you hun, and keep posting xxx

    Afternoon all,
Just back from town, finished the last bits of back to school stuff for dd, she is not back till next friday, but at least we are all ready :T .

Also took her to the Dr, who confirmed that she is suffering from migraines, he gave us a prescripction for some stuff which will stop the headache, and also she will be able to keep down, she is chucking everything else up, we went next door to the chemist to get the tablets, but they are only for 20 yrs and over  so we came away with nothing, the pharmisist (sp) will check with the Dr and we have to go back tomorrow, lets hope she does not get one tonight.

WS I also dont think that Little bear has OCD, little ones like that just like to repeatedly do things, my dd used to sit and do things for ages and ages i think its how they learn, hugs to you and give Little bear a hug from his Auntie Redruby xx

Well better get dinner on xx

Kathy What a cruel thing to do to a small child, in those days they did'nt think about LO's feeling at all. I remember my mum telling me she only ever had 1 doll, given to her by her eldest brother who was in the army, and my nan pawned it before she had even played with it, she has never forgotten it and she is 86 now. These things stay in the memory forever. I think there will be a few tears shed on your mum's birthday. :A

Essex-girl glad all went well for OH

JackieO I do the same it seems to make the ironing easier :rotfl:

Hester I think Squiggly has the right idea, it sounds like he does as little as possible and gets paid for it, ooo does'nt it make you

Aussie hope your headache goes after a good sleep....BTW I luv your skirt well done:T

Well its not been a bad day weather-wise, dry anyway, 2 loads dried and put away. Is it me though or is it really muggy???
Went to Makro today to buy a new DVD player, the other one suddenly decided to stop working, must have been the DGD's and their favourite video....Help I'm a Fish.....they LOVED it and watched it everyday they were here.:rotfl: OOO I really miss them already, the house is too quiet, I just love LO's around the place.

OH has just come in so I better go get dinner ready.

((((hugs)))) to folks who want/ need. Sorry to hear of such hard times.
((((Margaret54)))) - have you heard of skype? You could talk to AND see your son while he is away. I did this with DD when she was in Australia. She sometimes did it from the flat but also went to internet cafes. It was lovely to see her facebiggrin.gif. Good for you smiling bravely at the airport - that's what I always do and then go home and bawl.
Sunny here - hope the weather is nice for the weekend as I plan to wash the dogs' bedding. I'm going to teach DS14 to use the washing machine. He often complains about his 'good' clothes not being washed at 'home' so he can learn to do it himself and then negotiate with his mum I think about using the WM. I know my 2 could do it at that age. I also plan some cookery lessons for him. Oh lucky boy, oh what joy he will hold in his heart for melaughing-smiley-014.gif

Tea tonight is 2nd day braised liver, carrots and pots for DH and 2nd day cauli and cheese & pots for me. Think my tummy has finally settled but still eating fairly bland food. Someone at work wondered if it was the fact that |I had had a very garlicky-oniony curry at the Indian but didn't have rice to soak up the spices etc, only 1 chapatti and kind of irritated my stomach liningconfused-smiley-013.gif. I have an easily upset tum anyway but love spicy food rolleyes.gif

Wish DH would hurry up and come home. We're taking the dogs out and then going for a nice little drinkie at the pub - nice way to end my first week back at workbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif
    Enjoy your Friday evening folks
