Had a low carb breakfast and trying to get motivated to put another loaf in the BM as the one I did yesterday has disappeared and make pea soup in my new slow cooker - old one fell to bits a few days ago.

It sounds like your caretaking staff are getting away with murder - what precisely do they "take care of?" They must have a job description and I am damn sure that climbing up a scaffolding tower is not in yours!!!!!

    Take care!

The headstone sounds a lovely idea.

Big hug and see you later

    Good morning:D

mioliere, (((((hugs))))) to your mum. People were very harsh to children back then. Bet she'll weep (with joy) when you give her he doll;) It really sounds a cutie.

sistercas, so glad you enjoyed London :D It's a bit fashionable these days to run it down and say anywhere else is better:confused: You'd need to be a visitor though to love the underground ( although it is quick and does avoid the road congestion):rotfl: :rotfl: It is expensive, so sorry you've had that huge bill to come home to:eek: (good job it came after the holiday  )

anniebooklover, hope you get some sleep tonight. Operating with eyes held open by matchsticks is no funicon9.gif

stefejb, you can't leave us hanging by a thread like that! Who is he, when are you seeing him again, are his intentions (dis)honourable:rotfl: :rotfl: I'm surprised you don't have a queue of men outside your house, I've met you remember;) :D

HJ, NOOOOOOO:eek: Tell me it's not true, not back to your OLD self:p :p:p:D
    ( love you really;) )

Well so far today I've............mm..........mm..........oh yes, watered the baskets and pots. So it can't really be gone 10 can it? I can't really have spent 3 hours showering, dressing and watering. Chatting to DH and drinking coffee doesn't take that long:rotfl:

DSis-in-law and family will be up later, so I need to tidy, dust and hoover the livingroom, so her littlest DGD can drop biscuit crumbs all over it:D I know I'm daft, I don't mind in the slightest her dropping crumbs, but I don't like it if it's a mess before.

When they've gone I shall attack the ironing pile which is growing faster than we have clothes, how does that happen:rolleyes:

Hope you have good days. (((hugs))) to the poorlies and worried.

    Morning all,

Dull again here but not raining, :T , so I have a load of towels in the wm which I will hang out in a while, i need to hoover upstairs today, I did down stairs yesterday. Other than that not a lot of OS will be going on :o , I am enjoying the holidays so much and will soon have to get back into the old routine, so I am making the most of it. :D

OH is just cooking me a sausage sandwich, dd is still in bed, will get her up in a while, I have to take her to the Dr later on to see about her headaches, so hopefully he can give us something.

Hm meatballs with pasta for tea, which is nice and easy. Oh I forgot I did peel core and stew up 2 huge carrier bags full of apples from my tree, ready to be turned into apple and blackberry jelly once the blackberrys are ready.

I have had soooo many apples off of that tree, have given away about 20 bags, and have thrown away several bags worth, which were beyond saving.

Kathy, I too had a tear in my eye when reading about your mum, give her a hug from me, I know she does not quite get the virtual friend thing, but give her a hug anyway xx

Stef, Hold on a mo madam, spill the details :D

Mellika, it might be a little bit too late to put anything in this year, you may just get away with some carrots, and some spuds for xmas. Your carrots can go in an old bucket or container, with some compost, but the spuds might need a bigger container, you can use an old compost bag, pm me if you need any help, I am by no means an expert, I only started this year, but be warned, once you have started growing something, some kind of urge takes over, and you will become obsessed, my garden now has every kind of veg imaginable in it, I am sure they will not all work, but I love going down the garden to Pick the veg for my dinner :D

Anyway, hugs to Bemused, jayward, candy and her dad, and anyone else in need.

    Have good days all xx

Smoky, I too think the headstone for Eric is a lovely idea, I for one would like to think I might have taken the strain off a bit, I know they can be expensive, and I would be proud if we can of helped a bit. The trampoline also sounds like a good idea. Take care hun, and pop in soon xx

    Good morning everyone!

Going to phone our local Lakeland and see if my jam maker has arrived, they were expecting more stock today and have reserved one for me, but they are oos online for ages, so hope the shops get some! I want to make some jellies, and it is such a faff to strain stuff that I thought the jam maker would be good! Okay, I'm just trying to justify it really, I love gadgets! I do use them though, honest, the slicer I bought last week has been used daily for the bread and did a fine job on the ham for the kids sarnies, all frozen now and awaiting their return to school.

Done brekkie this morning, loaded dw and whizzed around the kitchen, then tripped over cats' water and kicked the box of cat food into it - lovely, anyway the floor is now mopped as well!

Going to make cakes in the new silicone cases in the moski today, didn't get round to it yesterday, but dd2 tried out the cases and 11 fit nicely. dd1 made a magnificent apple braid, thanks dd&d wherever you are these days! Kids have requested more of them, and today if possible!

Supervised dd2 and ds making pasta last night, they want to know why we buy it ready made, but it takes so long to make it by hand! Quite relaxing when you have time, but not if you just want a quick meal! Guess I could freeze some, but realistically that won't happen!

Meant to be beef in ale tonight, dd1's favourite, except we have to call it beef casserole for her, as apparently she doesn't like ale! Will dig up the last of our potatoes to go with it, or will send dd3 and her friends to do it, they love doing it, I'm not just being unkind and working them to the bone!

Not a lot planned today, other than the poss trip to Lakeland, but not working so have plenty of time to pootle about. Hoping that the blackberries might be showing signs of ripening, still red and hard here!

Have a good day all xx

  • Morning Guys!

    (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Smokey))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
I think we would all feel honoured to of been able to contribute to something so personal and precious to you. I know its not the same but all of us on here still feel your pain and wish we could take some away for you. You are doing so amazingly (sp) well and I for one am very proud to know you.

Aussie-Loved the skirt. I liked the style and that cut would suit my DD very well.

    ((((((((((((((((Hester)))))))))))))))))-Chin up girl

Love to everyone else...I have forgotten everything else:o ...sorry!

OH dropped DD and her friend over at Bluewater this morning and will pick them up a little later.

Cleaners have been here this morning and am on my second load of washing.

Remoska has been used twice already and so far am quite impressed with it. It costs about 10p to run it for 1 hr so very economical.

The nurse turned up yesterday after getting a telling off from my GP. She was quite rude and it wasnt even my fault!....cheeky cow! I said that I would prefer the other nurse to do my injections and tests in future as I felt she was too rough with me and she wasnt too happy but agreed. I have a nice bruise where she stuck my arm to hard and she knows Im not good with needles.

Anyway, never mind. Hugs to everyone.

  • Good morning everyone:) I am starting a bit late today, but wanted to join in from N/Ireland. It is dry at the moment but I think there is rain to come. The children haven't had a nice summer bless them, and they will ali be back to school soon. My children are all adults by the way, but I feel for all the young ones regarding the "summer holidays". I agree with those of you who have mentioned the trampolines with the netting round them, as I have seen a few of them where we live, and the children all seem to love them. I would think they would sleep very well after all that bouncing, and it must be healthy for them too. I wish I had of had one when mine were all young .
My 25 years old son (who still lived at home with us(child number 5) left for Australia last night with his good friend, and they will be gone a year. My husband and I took them to the airport and stayed with them, until they had to board and I promised myself I would smile and not cry, which I was able to do. However last night about 9.00 I cried sore, and was glad it had not been in front of him. He is single and has a lot of friends and is very popular, and such a loving son and we will miss him so much. We just want him to enjoy the experience. We raise our children the very best way we can, and it is good that he saved up for this trip for a year and worked hard in his job, and he has the confidence to do this trip. His friend has been coming to our home since he was in primary school and only lives round the corner to us here, and a really nice lad too. We will also miss him. We give them wings and teach them how to fly, and we will miss him such a lot, as he is a very fun loving person full of laughter and a very positive and sunny nature.
I have the BM on and a pile or ironing to do later tonight. I think I will cook sausages for tea tonight. I am trying hard to lose two stones so I will find it hard going as I have a very sweet tooth, but have promised myself I will do this.
I felt sad when I read of your Mum's wee doll, all those years ago Mioliere, bless her, and I think what you are doing for her is so lovely, and kind and I am sure she will so love her doll when you give it to her, and the colours you are knitting with are lovely too. You are a very kind daughter, and it is so nice to hear this story having a happy ending for your Mum.
I will go now everyone and let someone else have a chat here:) Have a really nice day everyone,Margaret xxxx
