    Morning all,

Just a flying visit tonight to tell you about today. Got an awful headache atm. Think it was from all the travelling. Just taken 2 tabbies and I'm off to bed after this. DH knocked off at midday so we drove in to the city to pick up XDIL & DGS. He was so happy to see us :D. He wanted me to nurse him and not put him down. He's 3 1/2. My poor back. :D When we got home I gave them a little bundle of HM pumpkin soup (he had to some kweam too :D) lentil lasagne & I dished out some icecream.

His hands have dressings on them & they will need changing every second day for a few weeks. Hopefully they can be done at the doctor's surgery over on the islands here instead of the hospital on the mainland. He doesn't seem to be affected too much but XDIL gives him something for the pain on bedtime. Thanks for the recipe Haribo. I'm so glad that your normal now. ;) I won't do comments tonight but hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeee

Bit of a grey day and very 'muggy' (if thats the right word?). Thankfully OH's stomach has settled down now and so far he's not decided to share it with me thank goodness !
Today, more washing to get done then making cards -one for mum for her birthday next week and a get well card for my friend who went into hospital this morning.

Have a good day and hugs(((((((((((:o )))))))) to all who need them

  • Morning all! Wooohooo, here before midday, what a change!

Today is a bit grey out there but I have no hope of getting out in the garden today so that's ok. My OH works two jobs (as well as being my carer) and today as yesterday he worked 0700 -1330 and 1800 - 0200 (nearly 0400 by the time he packs down and drives home), so this afternoon it usually catches up on him and he comes home, has something to eat and crashes out for a couple of hours til he has to start again.

Sunny - hope you had lie down.. though if you do find out how to pickle tomatoes it might be worth a try.. *giggles*
Squiggly - Am soooooooo sorry to have to disappoint you re the full size pics too but it's all explained in last nights post *falls over laughing* :rotfl:
    Thanks donny-girl :D
Another big hug for Beemuzed and I hope your son is doing OK.
Melika, you can start so simply. Packets of seeds are only around a £1 but places often have sales this time of year. For next summer, collect your own seeds - chillis and peppers and tomatos and things can be harvested from the ones you buy in the supermarket and grown on the window sill til strong enough to go out next spring. Start your own compost heap in the garden for next year etc etc... As another poster said, pop over to the Greenfingered board and there is great advice about everything you need to know to start up!
Hester - sending you a mental hug
Mioliere - that's such a sad story and you are making a beautiful gesture.
Tired mum - have a great day

I am tired today and still aware I some things to do that I have been putting off forever. I slept badly last night so might even join my OH in a nap when he gets home.

Spend 90mins on the phone with a friend going through a bad time yesterday and I think this evening she might call round so I better be ready with the tea and a shoulder again!

Ok darlings - hope you all have a good day and *hugs* to anyone who needs one. Congrats to anyone who is celebrating today.

    Afternoon all,

Well, I nearly made it here before midday:rolleyes:

Actually I'm surprised I'm able to do anything at all today; had a dreadful night, even morphine didn't completely dull the pain. I think it's because I'm very, very tense because I've got a hospital appointment on Tuesday, and I'm scared sh*tless. Still, Mr LW and I will sit down and make some notes over the weekend, so that we don't forget anything we want to mention to the Doctor._pale_

I'm finding my new trolley from Lakeland incredibly useful; it's saving me a lot of [STRIKE]walking[/STRIKE]hobbling, as I can use it to carry more than one item at a time. It's also helpful with dusting, as a lot of my ornaments I can't lift one-handed. :o

Beemuzed I hope your DS is improving; what an awful scare for you!

Well, the post has just arrived, so I'd better go see what we've got. ((((Hugs)))) for all who want/need one; have a good day all.

(((Hugs))) to so many people today!

To PenPin - I am so glad you don't have to put up with the bad nurse.

Margaret - welcome to you and (((hugs))) for you now that your son has flown away for a year. You must have done a terrific job bringing up. Just think how much he'll be able to tell you when he returns!

Aussie (((hugs))) to your DGS - I'm so glad he's home.

    (((Hugs))) to Lame Wolf.

    (((Hugs))) to Mary's DH, too.

Thank you all for your hugs and wishes for my Mum. She's a tiny but very tough woman and has had a very hard life but she is a lovely lady and a very special part of the whole family. Having been told she would not live past the age of seven, then sixteen, then 21, then not to have any children (she had four of her own, took in her brother's four and fostered a total of fourteen, then got custody of my brother's two when his wife was badly neglecting them and brought them up!), then losing my Dad at 38, then told again that she would not make 40 years of age, you can imagine how we all think she's immortal! She's 78 this year and planning a big party for her 80th!

Well, I've been shopping and bought some more wool as part of her birthday present and bought my food shopping which came in at £10 less than I expected because I was SO careful!
I'd better go and put it all away and have some lunch.

It's really warm here but not sunny at the moment.

    See you later.

  • It has taken me such a long time to get to post, because evil cat has been particularly evil. I have been opening doors, putting down food, opening doors, putting down fresh water, opening doors... Then every time I sat down she would come and stick a claw in me! I think she has a strong sense of place. I should not be sitting at the computer. If I sat in the armchair she could sit in my lap - so I should move!

Thank you for the very kind pms. I really appreciate all the kind words on here. I shall be taking my courage in all my hands and going over to the surgery on Monday to pick up my repeat prescription and then going again on Tuesday to see the Health Visitor about little bear's nightmares, just in case I am missing something. Also, I think he may have OCD. The first evidence of this was with two small bottles of water. He took one and put it on a table, then he put the second bottle on the table. Then he put the first bottle on another table, and then went and fetched the second bottle and put them next to each other. Then he got the first bottle and put it on the first table, then got the second bottle and put it on the first table. Then he repeated and repeated for about 20 minutes.

My GP is on leave at the moment, but I will make an appointment and see him and take the post. I really appreciate your kind words. I am far more articulate on paper than I am in 'real life' and I shall, I think, make a lot of notes. I shall also make a lot of notes for the Health Visitor.

Mioliere - how sad for your mum to lose her doll like that! It was in the days of just ever having one dolly as well, none of these Toys R Us shipping orders that seem to arrive for little bear.

Speaking of which, he is twenty months old and my brother sent him some early learning centre playdough. Little bear thinks it is absolutely wonderful. He takes all the lids off, then he puts the green one on the television cabinet and then he fetches the pink one and puts that on the television cabinet. Then he puts the green one on the side table and then he puts the pink one on the side table. The he puts the green one on the television cabinet...

And then he throws a tantrum because I won't open the packet with the blue stuff in, and throws it to the ground. To ensure I fully understand his distress at this, he picks it up and throws it on the ground again. And again. By this time I have managed to stop laughing long enough to take it off him and put it out of sight.

Reading through there is a lot of people needing hugs - so hugs to you all.

Today has been, well, I have taken my antidepressant for several days on the run and I am feeling quite well. So that is a good thing. Little bear woke up quite late at 7.30 so we went downstairs and he had an early morning bottle while watching baby tv and then played until his breakfast. So I didn't manage my usual early morning tea/biscuit/browse on the news. But I still felt good. Then I nipped out to say hello to my neighbour and discuss skips. And I couldn't get away! He and his friend were discussing, well, expensive stuff. I have already asked the son of the house to fix my leaking porch roof, a job that has been repeatedly and ironically rained off. And they have identified someone who can sort out the loose and missing tiles on my roof before winter (I am extremely nervous about the estimate about that!). They also correctly pointed out huge gaps in the brick work that need repointing. I am emptying my dehumidifer in that room twice a day *interrupted by dear heart's auntie for half hour phone call * so I suspect I need to get that done sooner than later. I finally broke off two hours after 'just popping out' to put away the Sainsbury order and then little bear had a very grumpy moment and so I have been cuddling him.

    And answering the phone.

Hester - do you have anyone who is sympathetic and can get hold of that awful old caretaker's job description? Does it include grumbling, complaining and general unhelpfulness? When is his yearly review and who will be reviewing? I hope you enjoy yourself on the ladder - it sounds like more excitement than I could manage. I also recommend gin.

What a long post. With interruptions it has taken me over an hour! I had better go and start sorting out, well, everywhere really. Fish & chips from the chippy tonight so I may do a desperate deep clean of the kitchen, because then I won't have to break off half way to make something for tea.

oh well nothing much to say ..... honestly ..... a friend of a friend of a friend I met and then looked me up on facebook after the festival to enquire about my "mental vodka" - I had taken lots and lots of sweetie vodka with me to complement my dbros pineapple cube gin - as you do. • Hello everyone

I've had a very lazy day as I have done such alot this week that I felt I deserved to take it easy before I have afull house again for the weekend.
I have done 2 loads of washing and cleaned up a bit and prepared lasagne for tea.

Wannabe Sybil. I would take "little bear" to the health visitor if it will put your mind at rest but I think it very unlikely that he would have OCD at 20 months. Repetition in play is perfectly normal for babies and toddlers. Try not too worry too much and as others have said maybe you need to be more assertive in seeking some help for yourself. Take care.

    Bye
