Have to agree about the nosh 4 students book :T ... I got it for my niece before we left the uk.. Figured that now she no longer has my sis there -she needed to start learning.. her and her dad love it and cook for each other out of it.. I love the fact that it has no "chefy" wierd n wonderfull ingredients in -just stuff that most people have in..so at least I know she is eating well
Ohhh and I spoke to her today and she go her A levels... A in english, B in History and C in psychology n something or other -:j Pretty good going for taking them 1 year early and in the middle of losing her mum ... Spot the proud aunty:rotfl:

I always put my flour in the freezer overnight when I buy it, freezing it kills any eggs that are in it and stops them being able to hatch into weevilsI freeze it in its original bag, then store the flour as usual in jars/ tubs/ bags (I use resealable freezer bags) Then if any weevils do survive the freeze (which they shouldnt) they wont be able to jump accross to the rest of your flour and dry stores.

Well done MrsM's niece :T

Evening everyone,
Done my first shop of the month today. Stocked up on loads and bought a few extra bits as i'm having a batch cooking day tomoro. Making curry, goulash, chicken n leek hotpot n maybe some soup if i have time. Ended up spending half my budget so hopefully i've got enough to last us till middle of the month. I'm also considering getting a slow cooker as we like to have a lot of casseroles n curries etc...I'm home most of the time at the moment looking after little one, would it be worth me getting one? I'm thinking i'll be able to prep all veg n meat n bung it all in first thing while little one is having breakfast. What do you think? Will update sig.£387.39/£196.46
