    Evening everyone,
Done my first shop of the month today. Stocked up on loads and bought a few extra bits as i'm having a batch cooking day tomoro. Making curry, goulash, chicken n leek hotpot n maybe some soup if i have time. Ended up spending half my budget so hopefully i've got enough to last us till middle of the month. I'm also considering getting a slow cooker as we like to have a lot of casseroles n curries etc...I'm home most of the time at the moment looking after little one, would it be worth me getting one? I'm thinking i'll be able to prep all veg n meat n bung it all in first thing while little one is having breakfast. What do you think? Will update sig.

Definately worth it, I love mine and don't even bother putting it back in the cupboard now!

    I second shelbell.

I have 2 little ones and it is so much easier with a slowcooker.

Evening everyone - gosh, I haven't logged on since yesterday morning and Sept GC is up and running already and we're on page 11. You guys are fast movers.;)

Have read through and caught up - thought I'd better as I see we are not going to be able to access Forums tomorrow - how will we manage.

Had Breaded Haddock, HM Chips and Mushy Peas for Dinner tonight, then picked some more Blackberries & Raspberries from the Garden, boiled them up with some water and sugar to make a nice sauce and swirled it into some HM Yogurt and told the girls we were having giant Corner Yoghurts again.:rotfl:

Off now to put my feet up as been doing a bit of digging/rearranging in the garden to make room for a new Composter the Council delivered today.

    Have a good weekend everyone.:D

    Hi Blondie,

put the brumbles in a dish, add some sugar (they can be sour, so my lot like a bit of sugar with it) and then add the crumble mixture (recipe below) and some brown sugar sprinkled over the top. I have done it this way with all fruit crumbles. Also, I do add a small amount of water or apple juice when I use apples.

    Crumble mixture recipe

    4 oz Flour
    2 oz Margarine
    2 tsp Sugar

Just mix it all up and voila!

    Hope this helps.

    Egon

Thanks for putting your info in your sigs. I was thinking it would be great to be in the list on the first page but like I said, lots of work for the thread keepers. I've got space in my sig now so I'll put mine there too.
Enjoy your MSE free day everyone!:rotfl:

Hi there, I'm joining in for the 1st time this month. I am going to do from the 1st to 30th Sept as my challenge and will set my 1st months limit at £300. It sounds a lot for us 2 adults and 2 kiddies but I have no idea how much I'm spending so am using it as a 1st month starting point.

We have 2 cats and a hamster but will pay for their food and bits separately because I bulk buy the cats food.

Excited to get started - my cupboards are full of pasta at the moment as we are doing slimmingworld but we don't have any ingredients to make sauces with.

The freezer is full but one drawer seems to be reduced bread which the boys have toasted in the morning.

Here I go - wish me luck and good luck to everyone else.
