Hi folks - haven't dared post earlier as I was too worried. DS admitted to hospital late last night - thought perforated ulcer, but scan and blood tests show acute pancreitis. He manages a pub - but clearly he'll have to give up alcohol! Don't know yet the grade of severity. My daughter outlaw is doing well, but DGD is too noisy for much visiting. Will go up tomorrow and visit and mind the LO. Oh I do panic so - having lost one son I'm paranoid about the other.
Beemuzed, so sorry to hear your dear son is in hospital, hope all goes well for you all, give him lots of love and hugs, it must be so hard for you having already lost one son, makes all other problems seem petty, hugs to you hun xx0 -
Hello again everyone
Hurray, my back is feeling heaps better right now, though I will postpone doing this:j for a few days. I'm still a bit stiff and hobbling about but there are no spasms. I did take an ibuprofen tablet, so it's probably that. Unfortunately the bin was due to be collected today and there was absolutely no way I could have dragged it round to the front of the house. It's a fortnightly collection, but I forgot about it last time due to confusion after the strike they had...so I'm going to have one almighty smelly receptacle by the next time it's due to be collected.
Sybil - may I suggest that you phone your GP surgery and tell the receptionist that you require repeat prescriptions, but that you are having difficulties getting out of the house. You can ask if you can send them some pre-stamped envelopes and so that they send the prescriptions to you. Or you could enquire if they know of any pharmacies which have a collection and delivery service - ie any that will collect your prescription from the GP and deliver your medicines to you. There are some who will do this for free, so it would be worth your enquiring about. Please try not to forget your tablets!!! I know from experience that forgetting to take even one dose of anti-d means anything up to a fortnight of feeling very rough. I find a pill organiser very useful, ie put seven days worth of tablets into it, then leave it somewhere I will notice it eg beside the kettle. It also helps prevent accidentally taking a double dose which is really not a good idea. These are available from pharmacies too, and only cost a couple of quid, if that. The idea about the alarm clock is a good one! A little cheapie one out of Argos or Tesco or somewhere would do the job perfectly for you, if you could persuade your OH to purchase it for you. When you're chatting to your GP next enquire if there any sociable groups that s/he knows of which cater for people with anxiety issues. Why can't you go to the GP when your OH is at home? Doesn't he support you now that you need his support? Sorry for the rambling lecture...I like to use a lot of words:o Look after yourself.
HariboJunkie, not sure what's going on, but you are OS's big sweetie who puts a grin on my facial chops. Of course you are not posting in the wrong place, you silly girl!!!!!
I think I will attempt to do a bit of housework now. Obviously if it gets too much I will hobble to the sofa and sit on my big bum so don't worry about me (as if!:rotfl:)
Bye

(((Hugs))) to Beemuzed's DS - what a dreadful worry for you all.
(((Hugs))) also to Jannyannie - hope things work out for you and your DH.
Candygirl - so glad you have some good news.
Frugalswan - I'm glad you aren't feeling quite so stressed now.
Well, time for a sit down for an hour or two. I've been typing invoices for DH so I've told him that's overtime!
See you.

There, that feels better:D And a much more rewarding and productive use of my time than most of my day has been:rolleyes:
Good evening everyone:D
Spent most of my day in that wonderful occupation called hang on this phoneline until you can speak to yet another *wrong person* who will quote the data protection act at you, then shove you off to yet another *wrong person*. Never mind, at least using 18185 and saynoto 0870, the calls only cost me 5p each, even the one that was for over 1 hour:eek:
I did make a rabbit casserole in the SC which was very tasty. Pity DH of the black humour kept humming *Bright Eyes* as we ate:rotfl:
SnowyOwl, I'm glad your back is feeling better, but are you sure it's up to running when this "old woman:eek: " chases after you:p
As I read through the thread,( in one go!), there were many I meant to send a hug to, but now I'm here I've forgotten so please take a (((((hug)))) if you need one.
Aussie, the skirt looks great. Haribo will model the other one for us later;)
Off for a look round, CM xYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -

Hi guys,
Big gentlle hugs to Pen-pin (hope you are O.K.) Beemuzed, jannyannie, Sybil (please follow DG's advice
) and all else in need.
Haribo :hello: - you are one of my inspirations here and certainly not on the wrong thread........ ((((((((very gentle hugs to you))))))
Another rollercoaster few days has passed. I find I am really enjoying work and it takes me out of myself and am having a good old laugh there but once I get home I sort out the kids and housework and then end up really down and tearful - it doesn't help that I am permanently tired due to lack of sleep. I am feeling really lonely and tbh I can't seem to organise and get on top of things like I used to. No matter really, I suppose once the kids are back in school I can reclaim some me time twice a week for a few hours.
The garden is FAB!!!! I am having to water it twice a day until the lawn takes (sprinklers are a no-no as it is so big I have to walk on it to re-position the dratted things) and I can't get over how big it looks now. One of my collegues at work has said that B&Q have a big trampoline with the netting on the side reduced by £100 at the moment and I am tempted to buy it for the kids for xmas.
I had to phone the local hospital today as an appt. had come through for Eric for the coronary care team and the lady was most apologetic, apparently his GP is meant to inform the hospitals of his death and they haven't done so - she intends to 'have words with them'.
I also wanted to ask you guys about something...... The money you kindly collected after Eric's death.......... It is sitting in a savings account and I wondered if it would be OK with you guys if I used it towards his headstone? The undertaker told me that they are normally put up on the first anniversary and it is something that I want to arrange soon. I have teetered on whether or not to donate it over to the ARDS foundation but feel that as it was given with love and friendship to us that a fitting use would be to put it towards a permament reminder of all of our feelings for him. Please be REALLY HONEST with me here if you think it is a bad idea and I should do something else with it.
Well I guess I have 'Mioliered' enough for tonight. I resolve to post a bit more often and try to get back on track!
Thank you for everything guys,
Smoky. xxxxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb
