    Afternoon!

Relaxing with a nice coffee - well not that nice really, I'm trying to give up sugar in drinks and can't bear tea without sugar, coffee isn't much better, but it's drinkable!

Spent the afternoon making sock monkeys with the girls, dd2 was great, did almost all of it herself, dd3 stuff the bits for her one, at 7 her sewing skills aren't quite up to making animals, and dd1 got in a strop and stomped off! They are now all finished and dd1 is back to normal, the monkeys are lovely, have had several calls from neighbours asking how to make them, dd3 has been running around showing all her friends her one!

oh arrived back a few mins ago with ds and the necessary shoes, they're horrid, but he likes them, he's going to look like someone's grandpa wearing them but what do I know about fashion lol! Also collected my silicone cake cases, le creuset do 6 for £4, this was at their seconds shop, they're great, a box of red and a box of yellow ones, dd2 is ready to get baking with them! Got them cos they'll fit in the remoska.

Going to have a catch up now and make some Christmas planning lists!

    Afternoon all.

Well, I seem to get later and later getting on here. Have been fairly busy today though, baking bread rolls and apple pie. Kitchen smells lovely now, and it's making me feel hungry. I'd better not eat anything now though, or I shan't be able to eat dinner this evening.

Had a letter from the Civil Service Retirement Fellowship today, advertising a local "get-together" they're having; I've had to refuse though, as I can't go anywhere there are lots of people without Mr LW, and he'll be at work, and so not available. Even though I now have my mobility scooter, I can't face social occasions.:(

Not sure what to do for tea tonight; possibly pasta with cheese sauce, as we haven't had that for a bit.:o

Hope everyone is having a good day; ((((hug)))) for anyone who wants/needs one.

    Hello everyone,

Im afraid i havnt read the thread for days now, so i have no idea what is going on, but ((HUGS)) and :hello: to everyone xx

:hello: Taplady, Shez and mrs mix xxx

Been really busy - end of last week had the chap in knocking down the wall between my bathroom and toilet, and moving the wall between DS and DD rooms - its all done now, ive cleaned after all the mess, and now just need to find someone who can do plastering - i have no money at the moment so it will have to wait. All the rooms are a lot better, and you cant really notice the difference in DSs room, although its made a huge difference in DDs so im really pleased.
Now working again, had LOs last day yesterday, and his mum gave me a lovely card, some perfume and a necklace as a thank you, which was a lovely surprise. We are going to keep in touch (she had to give up work due to splitting from her husband) which im pleased about, as i will really miss the LO.
Have older ones here today, which has been nice as ive been able to catch up on loads of things. Next week i have the new baby starting (a replacement for the one who left in July to start school) and she has been a couple of times now, she is 6 months old and i think she is settling really well, so that is good.

DS went off with his dad this morning, will be back on Sunday - i hate him going but i know (well i hope) he will have a lovely time, so thats whats important. DD refused to go, luckily he didnt cause a fuss - i had to ask her to say goodbye to him, and apparently he did say something about maybe going next time, but who knows when that will be, and who knows if she will want to go (i think not!!)
So, once everyone has gone (about 6) we are going to have a girly night. Spag bol and garlic bread, and maybe some chocolate for dessert!! i think we might do our hair and nails too!

Well, thats about it from me, hope everyone has a lovely evening,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Afternoon peeps,

didn`t manage to get online at all today due to pc problems at w*rk.

I came home absolutely bursting with enthusiasm to get a head start on the housework but made the deadly mistake of sitting down with a cuppa first, now i feel absolutely drained and have no energy at all.

Rosyred - happy belated birthday for yesterday, hope you had a smashing day!

Sybil - I really think that you should follow the excellent advice given by Donny Gal and send a copy of your post to your GP ((((HUGS)))) for you.

Diva - your post really made me smile, i mis-read your second post to say that you had pickled tomatoes :o i was sat here thinking to myself that i didn`t know that tomatoes could be pickled and thought i`d better investigate further when i realised what i had done, i think i really do need an hour on the sofa to set me right again!

    Off for a nap :D

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

I had 3 pm's waiting for me this morning that suggested I copy this post over here from the end of yesterdays thread, so not being one to ignore such nice pm's... here it is.. :rotfl:

Geez girls! Am I conversing with a bunch of OS women, downing Gin and Tonic at a rate of knots; dressed in wooly home knitted cardigans to keep warm cos we have all turned our heating off despite it being 5 degrees below freezing? Same said women who waited all day to go shopping at Tescos 30 mins before it closed in order to get all the marked down food which they then bring home to eek out so that one pork chop feeds 15 with enough left overs to make packed lunches for 4? Or am I reading this thread all wrong???:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Love you all! Good days or bad days it's so great to know you are all here!

    Diva.x

Contrary to DonnyGal's belief I'm afraid you've got me all wrong.icon9.gif Never knitted in my life and don't even have central heating to keep turned off. Yes, I managed to get some yellow stickered bargains last night but won't be attempting to eek out a pork chop.

This is the OLD STYLE daily thread. I'm Old Style and proud. But perhaps I'm posting in the wrong place now.

    Hi everybody!

Lovely sunny evening now, big change from the drizzle all morning....clothes on line might even dry!

Stew for dinner to-day as we are all going to a funeral and in at different times, so people can eat as they arrive. OH and DD2 are having steak as they don't like stew...have no patience with that lark so they have to buy and cook for themselves....do they realise that I am a pensioner!!

SW....please take the advice that has been offered in relation to your post...one further little thing I would say is that you should try to think of yourself a little more...it is neither silly nor shameful to be ill...do something that you enjoy every day, even if you have to start at 5 minute treats....neither your husband or child are going to suffer for it and it will be good for you...take it from one who spent almost 40 years thinking of others all the time, eventually I collapsed and it has taken me almost 2 years to be nearly 'normal' again, part of that recovery has meant doing things just for me sometimes and saying how I feel to my family....I have also learnt that it is not necessary to be rude or nasty to do that, neither is it necessary to always explain when you have to say 'no' to people....

Welcome to newbies who have not been welcomed so far, I have a mind like a sieve!

Aussie...love the skirt, great job...sure that you are looking forward to DGS' return tomorrow.

Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to those who are celebrating.
