Morning, been and delivered the salad stuff to work and I've stripped and changed our bed. Mr Twit didn't get his job finished yesterday, so I'm expecting him home this afternoon. No doubt he will shower and fall straight into bed.

I'm popping into town for a few bits & pieces, then Miss Twit and I are having our hair cut. A salon close to work was asking for 'models' for a free cut & blow.....keep your fingers crossed for us

Mioliere, I'm sure I saw on the gardening board that Wyevale have some good offerson for seeds, don't know if there is one near you

    Hugs to those in need

    Hello again everyone

Thank you so much for the tea and sympathy regards my back, it is very much appreciated. You'd think working in the NHS they'd give chairs/posture etc greater attention, but no, you're just left to get on with it! However as I am agency staff today is not paid - yes, my back is so sore it is preferable to lose a day's pay than to put up with it for the day and during the drive there and back (the driving is actually the worst bit as I thought I was going to go off the road or fail to brake yesterday, so better I don't even try today). The advice I have found so far has mostly been along the lines of "be brave, struggle on, bed rest isn't good" - so I'll take some painkillers and be off to wo*k tomorrow. It isn't as bad at the moment, but then I've been taking paracetamol since I got in yesterday. I'm hobbling about like an old lady though (no offence Aussie, Pink-winged, Twink, Churchie, Mioliere, etc etc etc:D)

Aussielass, Big Brother is fantastic viewing! There is an Australian girl on it this year and she engages in such intelligent conversation, it really is compulsive viewing. Ahem...

Haribo - what a lovely picture of Aussie's skirt. Do you think she'll wear a petticoat with it. No...I didn't think so either....

Tired Mum...ugh, 8 till 8 - those are very long hours. I know what you mean about sounding ungrateful for certain job opportunities, but not everything is suitable, and you do need to be happy at wo*k as it is such a major factor in life. I hope the outcome is what you want....and that when that decently paid suitable job which will make you happy shows up you walk straight into it.

RosyRed - happy birthday for yesterday:beer:

    Bye for now everyone

I think that skirt would look much better on you Haribo. :D Here is 2 pictures of mine here and here. Make sure you've got sunglasses on. and forgive the tuckshop arms too. ;) DH said it wasn't too bad.

The spinach pie I made was really nice. I'm off to meet XDIL & DGS tomorrow at the station. DH looks like he's having an early day so he might be able to chauffeur me instead of me taking bus & train. I hope so. It will cut hours out.

    TiredMum Good luck maybe. ;)
Haribo Let me know how the muffins turn out & post the recipe. I have thousands of passionfruit to use up. :D
SNowy I suppose she brings some intelligence into it. :)

Well off to have a shower and hit the sack. Enjoy the rest of the day. Byeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Hi again

Well bedroom we are using done, Gas fitter here for annual boiler service, which means I can take off to Aldi and stock up a little in a short while, which just leaves the ironing mountain, the spare/pc/everything we can't fit anywhere else room while we don't have our bedroom which is not going to be a short job, don't fancy either.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Hugs to all

Thank you to all those sending me good wishes. I do try to remember my antidepressants. On the tablets I originally had I took them in the morning so it was up, breakfast, tablet and very easy to get into that routine. Taking the tablets in the evening when there is no obvious trigger seems to be causing me a few hiccups. I am thinking of how to best remind myself. If only evil cat could be relied on to be an irritation on a regular basis.

I don't have anyone who can help me taking little bear out, :o I don't have friends that can help and dear heart won't, it's just the way it is. I have spoken to my health visitor and they put me in touch with someone...

First of all I realised that the group that they wanted to go to was a support group for women who have suffered from domestic violence, which I never have! I thought it was a social group and the big draw was the creche which would have been good for little bear to learn that it was okay if mummy left him.

I said I wanted shoes for him, and I wanted them fitted. Now, there is a pushchair friendly bus which goes about two minutes from my door that would take me into town where there is a Clarks (:o see how silly I am? It is so irritating to me). However they wanted to take me on a non-pushchair friendly bus away from town to a park which was extremely similar to the one I could walk to if I wasn't having these dizzy spells. I did tell them several times that I was quite poorly at times but I don't think they heard - I think they had put me in a pigeonhole, but got the wrong one.

The worst bit was I was silly enough to grumble about a bannister. Over ten years ago I fell downstairs and dislocated both shoulders. I have finally convinced dear heart that a handrail was a good idea. He was convinced that if there was a hand rail he wouldn't be able to squeeze up the stairs! But I was very concerned now about little bear as well, so I was insisting. The ladies that came round wanted to confront dear heart and he would have been incandescent if he thought I had discussed anything about it with them. I have the rail now, and the paint and I just need to get it up. The nice man next door said he will fix it up for me, but he has been busy.

I felt very uncomfortable and I don't think they heard me when I told them how bad things were, they were convinced that I should do swimming with little bear which makes me feel hysterical thinking about it. Or I could go to places I didn't want to go instead of into town to get to the market. So I decided I would just try and work things out by myself.

I am concerned - I ran out of antidepressants last month because I struggled to get to a building I could see out of my window. :o The most irritating thing is that if I am on my own then I am fine - I can go as far as I like. If dear heart is with me or we are going in the car it is not a problem for me. We hope to go out on Saturday to a park or somewhere. I don't have much patience with myself on this. Unfortunately I can't get to my GP when dear heart is at home.

But I can come on here, confess my silliness and 'see' and 'chat with' some lovely people. I have had a huge ramble on about me, but really I am confident that I will be fine, and so will little bear.

Well, I am off to get some spring cleaning done! I always start feeling better at this time of year so I must make the most of it!

    Hugs to all.

(((hugs))) WS - I think you need to print off what you have written above and get it to your doctor, if you are not able to get to him, then maybe you can post it to him, marked private, and explain why you have sent it. You are not the only one like this, it is not uncommon at all, I am sure he will understand and be able to help. DG

    Morning all,

Mioliere, I like charity shops but it irritates me so much now when I find they are charging an amount for a something that I could buy in QS or Peacocks at the same price - or they up the cost because something is from Next or similar - they seem to forget they have been given everything for nothing!!!! I know they are trying to raise as much as possible for a good cause, but I am not able/prepared to pay what I feel are quite high prices for 2ndhand clothes. I used to use charity shops all the time a few years ago. A lot of them have started these ranges of "new" items - and having very little donated goods - which I think is taking advantage of their charity shop status. It just means I tend to use them less & less. Anyway, rant over!!

Squiggly - I quite agree with you about the pricing! I only ever buy clothes that are on the reduced rails unless I am looking for something for a special occasion or work clothes for my tall DH. The clothes are more costly now than they ever used to be. Most of the time I look for books, toys and bric-a-brac which is where the real bargains are nowadays. I paid £7 in a charity shop for my unused BM and it has really earned its keep. I have also bought a lot of brand-new Christmas presents and loads of fabric, knitting wool and patterns, so the shops are ideal for some things. I also get annoyed at how much brand-new stock they sell, you know - the sort of stuff that they get in specially and charge high prices for. That's not what charity shops should be about; similarly, I get annoyed when they price collectors' items too high, too! As you say, the items are donated and they should aim for low prices and high turnover to keep the money flowing in. I am sure the coming recession will force the prices downwards to a more realistic level. That's my rant over!!

Having said all that, I bought three books this morning in my local charity shops. One of them is brand new about rugby which will make an ideal pressie for my DS1! I also bought a top but that was on the reduced rack for 95p!

My other bargain was in Superdrug. My DH takes Glucosamine with Chondroitin for his joints and they have their own brand on BOGOF at the moment. I paid £7.99 for two containers of 30 each.

I also didn't visit the gym as I had intended because I ran out of time! I shall go tomorrow instead.

Anyway, I shall now catch up with the rest of the thread - I just had to respond to Squiggly!

    See you.
