Morning all.Hope everyone who is feeling down/poorly improves soon.
I'm sat here still in my dressing gown typing, but I don't know why- I need to wash my hair and takethe dog out before my brother and niece arrive in an hour.
Had a few visitors yesterday as it was my birthday,so it was really busy. Two aunts and my cousin rang to see if they could call, not seen them for ages so that was really nice, and brought me a lovely bunch of flowers.
OH aunt and uncle have got their Diamond anniversary today,so we're going there tonight for ' bit of a do',again we'll see rellies we've not seen for a bit.
Ah well better get a wiggle on.
Have a good day everyone.xxxx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning Everyone
Thought I would say hi before getting distracted by getting the bungy back in order, just checked Flylady to see how I was doing with them, and seem to be at least on a level if not a bit advanced with them, after first of all scraping, sweeping and hoovering the floor in our bedroom & hall which has just been plastered, to try to minimise further dust, we have the lounge dusted, furniture moved and hoovered, and dining area put back to rights (had to take ornaments off plate rack and piccys off wall while building work on other side of wall), apart from birthday cards for DH yesterday, and some papers at the side of me it is tidy. Kitchen all items moved and worktops cleaned and everything wiped before putting back, clutter moved floor washed and inside of windows cleaned in both rooms. Bathroom also has been cleaned/dusted. Caravan emptied, and cleaned, 4 loads of washing done (a lot for just two of us normally in two days, but been away for a almost a fortnight), still some more to do too, so I do have the resulting ironing mountain, and need to tackle the room we are using at the moment (not a bit task), and the spare/pc room (this is the marathan). Friends coming to see us for the weekend, so must crack on. Not claiming all this by myself, tbh DH has probably done the majority, he has this habit of taking over, and I have acquired the habit of letting him. :rotfl: :rotfl:
Today though, he needs to start putting some emulsion on the new plaster, so it looks like the last two rooms and the ironing are mine!
Wannabe Sybil - please keep on your medication, and be sure to be honest your going out problems, both to to DH and your GP. Maybe trying to go out with DH or friends rather than on your own at first. I had a friend who was like this after the birth of her first child, but eventually she did manage to overcome it.
Thanks for the info Celyn and hope that scan goes OK for Mr EG, Snowy look after your back, have you tried a warm bath? I know that employers should consider the height and angle of chairs, but not all take it seriously. Using a keyboard all day does mean you should be properly positioned, both at home and work. Hester I hope someone is going to make sure the contractors are not paid for work not done, sometimes I wonder, though a bonus for you. Pleased to hear from you Jackie-0, glad you are enjoying yourself. Smokybabe not seen anything from you for a while, but could be 'cos I have been away, and you are properly very busy with the school holidays, but hope you are and the lo's are OK. Enjoyed your twist last night HJ - CM hope the G&T helped the aches and pains, or just numbed them anyway. :grouphug: to anyone with aches/pains/or just needs one :grouphug: We tried to give some coat hangers to a couple of charity shops recently, but they now have their own to make the shops look more "smart"
.
Well sat here long enough Ming, better have brekky and get a wiggle one.
 to anyone not otherwise mentioned

Mornin:hello:
Its flippin orrible here, dull and dreary,I dont think it knows what to do :undecided  Got the WM on though, washing has mounted up after not doing any for the last few days, no time with the DGD`s here....much more fun playing and taking them out, they are 2 and 4.....:j must admit though, I did their washing before they went home and ironed it, I could`nt send them home without doing it.
The house is too quiet now though and I feel a bit "mopey" ah well, I know you will all cheer me up:o I wish they lived nearer it`s over 3 hr drive to their place.
Anyway DS1 and his OH had a lovely time in Barcelona, she took him there for his 40th as it was a special birthday, and we got to have the girls for a few days so everyone was happy.
Back down to earth now though so better get my a**e in gear and get sorted, after a bit of a read through;)
Back in a bit

Just answered door to postman and expected a parcel to be the dvd that play.com said they posted on Monday.
Turns out the parcel is for my daughter - vey disappointed as I wanted the dvd this week and I can't report it till 21 days after it was posted. By that time she will have gone back to uni!!!
Managed to get DD(14) school shoes that we both liked but if I let on they are from M and S she will not be happy with me. I bought myself a new pair of shoes as well from their footglove range as they are really comfortable.
Had lunch at Nandos and managed to keep to low carb plan!
Treated DD to cinema and went to see "Zohan" and did not know where to look!!!!!:o Lets say it must have been aimed at adolescent boys!!!
My new slow cooker arrived while I was out so very pleased about that.
Still trying to convince DH that a Grande Remoska would be a good idea for him to have!!!;)
I need to go and get free range eggs from the market, pick up my prescription and either buy or bake more bread!!!
Hugs to everyone and see you later."This site is addictive!"

Morning all :hello:
Snowy.... Take it easy with your back missus.
Mrs Mix... I hope DD is getting better. xx
Good luck to Essex Boy.
Cheer up Pippa.S

Aussie.... Your skirt is lovely.
Leather is just so hard to work with isn't it?
Sybil... I agree with DG (doesn't happen often
) but you will only get help if you are honest with your OH and GP. Sorry that your OH is stressed but you need to look after yourself too in order to continue to give your son the care and attention he needs.Take care.
Beth..... Don't work too hard. I'm sure your DD will be very grateful.
More office work today. DW is emptied, WM is on. Beds are made and kitchen cleaned.
Girls have their dancing class this afternoon so tea will be a quick sausage, egg and chips. Also going to make some passionfruit muffins as I got 10 yellow stickered passionfruit for 10p last night.
Off to make a big pot of coffee and get on with things.

Me again! :hello:
Typical! I go back to bed and 10 minutes later the bin men arrive in the street. It's recycling day so all I could hear were big plastic tubs being thrown about the street. So gave up and I now have a headache. Still, I managed to have a chat with DS and things are much better so I'm feeling happier about that.
Squiggly, I saw my nephew and his wife on Monday. They didn't stay too long (I think all the effort of socialising and acting "normal" takes it out of her tbh) but it was lovely to see them. They have e-mailed me some photos of their son and my nephew is going to e-mail some photos of the baby too. Her photo will be proudly displayed next to her big brother. Thanks for asking.
tired mum good luck with the interview - if you really want the job, that is.
RosyRed belated birthday wishes to you. :T
Essex girl good luck to your DH today. Hope all goes well.
I bought one of the £10 meal deal thingies from M&S. Managed to bag myself one of the large Oakham chickens as part of it. So, we had a roast chicken dinner on Monday and one last night. I then stripped the chicken and made stock with the carcass. I'm going to make a chicken and sweetcorn pie with the leftovers today and if I have enough chicken to spare, some chicken & sweetcorn soup for DD as she loves that. I didn't get as much meat off the chicken as I expected - though I suspect that that is due to DD sneaking lumps from it - she loves roast chicken that girl does.
I haven't got to the bottom of the washing basket yet - despite yesterday's marathon so there will be more washing in the booklover household today. However, as DS and DD worked so hard yesterday tidying their rooms and helping out elsewhere, I think they deserve a treat today so I'm going to have a look at what's on at the cinema (I have a money off coupon) and if there's nothing good on then maybe ten-pin bowling as I have a money off coupon for that too.
Need to go and take some paracetemol before I hit the gym. Bye for now. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Dull day here again, never mind, I do not have enough washing for a load anyway :T . Not sure what we are up to today, will see what the day brings. I am also a bit fed up with the charity shops, I do like to get books there, but went in one the other day, and picked up a book I wanted, it was £2.50, and the original price was £4, I think a lot of them are getting greedy.
We are having bacon chops and spicey sauce for tea, (from yesterday), with either chips and peas or rice. Also have a sainsbugs delivery coming tonight.
Kaat I copied down the recipe for Roberts lunch yesterday, it looks delish, will try it at some point.
Has anyone got a recipe for blackberry and apple jam / jelly, I have a load of apples off of my tree, and the blackberrys are nearly ready here, ... what has happened to my font
Anyhoo have good days all xx
Hugs to all in need xx0
