OS Daily for Thursday 28 August

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28 August. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning Floss2 and webitha, hello everyone to follow

Sorry, I've been AWOL lately - symptom of Big Brother addiction sadly... Only eight more days to go!

I think I'm going to have today off wo*k - I somehow managed to hurt my lower back and I keep getting awful spasms. Driving home yesterday was awful because of having to move my legs to change gear and/or brake, it was so sore. My chair at wo*k isn't brilliant either, the seat sort of points downwards so that my weight passes to my feet rather than my thighs to keep me on the chair. I've tried adjusting it, but gave up and ended up using my handbag as a footrest instead! Needless to say I haven't had a wink of sleep either as even the smallest movement was torturous. Fingers crossed it's a temporary problem and that some painkillers and a bit of rest sort it out pdq.

Wo*k is going OK, nothing to get excited about really. It is so disorganised, it does my head in, and I've been chucked in at the deep end. They seem to operate some sort of clairvoyant method of teaching new people how to do the job. Unfortunately it's not a very efficient way of learning and I am still fumbling around trying to get help. Fingers crossed something more suitable comes along.

I hope everyone is well and happy. Have a fanastic day everyone.

Had an argument with DS just before bed last night and it's preying on my mind. Will need to sit down and have a chat with him today to clear the air.

Haven't been around much as I've just been too busy but as I'm not sleeping I thought I would check in on the OS board. I haven't been keeping up with what's happening to whom so ((((hugs)))) to all who need one. Snowy hope your back improves soon. Surely the law dictates that you need a decent chair if you are sitting down all day as part of your job??

I ordered a Remoska yesterday and it will be delivered within the next week. I had the WM/TD on non-stop yesterday and I think it was the mild panic I had about my gas and leccy bills that prompted me to buy the Remoska. I'm really trying to cut down on energy consumption so yesterday wasn't a normal day by any stretch of the imagination but I had three bedsets and about 19 towels to wash and dry. It has been so humid here that clothes on the airer are taking days to dry.

Well, I'm off to check my online banking and maybe have a cup of tea before heading back to bed. Have a thrilling Thursday. xx

Good morning Floss and Webitha, and those that follow. Work in a bit, and I'm starting to show symptoms of the OH's cold, so that'll be nice. Hoping for some good news on the wedding plans front - we need to sit down and discuss other venue ideas tonight and what's going to work/not going to work, etc.

Sausage casserole tonight using some of the 50p sausages, and I think we'll have mash. We both need comfort food and I can just bung this in the oven and forget about it when I get home. Roll on 6pm!

(((hugs))) to those in need. Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all you little OS vegemites, :D

I cleaned the house today. The usual floors, dust etc. Just brought the clothes in, didn't think they'd dry as it's been overcast today. After lunch I finished my skirt. It actually doesn't look too bad. I *think* I might be able to wear it around other than the house. :D Will give DH a fashion parade when he gets home and he can tell me honestly. Had to change what's for tea tonight as some spinach was going to seed so I'm making a quiche type of thing. Had to pick 2 eggplants too but will have them at the weekend.

Cat poo was just as gross today but a lot easier as he done it on the newspaper  I laid right next to the litter tray so clean up wasn't as bad. Well I better go and make the pastry.

Snowy How can you watch that brain numbing rubbish. :naughty::D Hope your back gets better quickly.
Bookie I can never sleep well after a tiff. I hope the bank balance soothes you. ;)

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all

My car is in for a service and MOT today, and as it is 9 years old, I am preparing myself for a big bill  Will drop it off and then walk back, that's easy, it's going back that's all upbank.

I have a load of plums, so will check out the Preserving thread for a recipe for jam, and I need to list some things on Ebay, so that's today taken care of.

Not sure what's for dinner, but struggle to shut the lid on the freezer, so shouldn't have a problem finding something

Haved a gread day everyone x

Snowy Have you had a work-place assessment done? That should pick up things like whether your chair gives adequate support & is adjusted correctly, whether a foot rest is wanted/needed, wrist support, glare-filter etc....... speak to your line manager, as I'm sure they won't want to take responsibility for any damage to your back from not equipping you properly ;)

Morning chums ,I have my visitors here and we are off to the Chatham Dockyard today ,my youngest DD is working there today, so it will be a nice surprise for them to see what their little godchild does to earn a bob or two. (She is a costumed tour guide there)
Budget has gone right out of the window this week, owing to numerous visitors.Never mind back to normal next week.
I am hoping my friend's husband can move my fridge/freezer at somepoint before they go home so I can clean behind it .It hasn't been moved for about 3 years as I can't physically do it. He's a good chap though and I'm sure he will help out.
Already found a cottage for next year on the net for our annual holiday .We are off to the Isle of Wight for a change. We still won't tell the children until the week before though .
Well time to get a wriggle on, <<hugs to those in need>> and a big smiley face to the rest of you.Weather is looking good for the week-end ,have a good day everyone

    Good Morning All

Snowy - hope your back improves asap. (((hugs))) wherever needed.

Went to bad lest night at 7 with a migraine and slept for about 12 hours - obviously needed it. Still not feeling quite awake yet - need more tea.

Just about to put washing maching on and empty diswasher, cant do too much in the mornings at the moment as need to keep one eye on the pup. He got on very well at the vets yesterday.

Probably a bit of everything today, OH has a heart scan later - if the kids want to go we will but the hopsital is quite a drive away.

Leftover chicken with rice for tea tonight.

    Have a good one.x
