These companies make more out of those that contact them but do not sell their car/house but still have to pay premium rate phone calls and drive by valuation fees..............and........if they accept the stupidly low offer price,.then they need their bumps felt
Edit......this reply is regarding WeBuyAnycar/Homebuyerman......Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
As more members refuse to pay the ransom threatened by DRI I feel they have a PLAN F/4.2 to fall back on. In other words Diamond will declare themselves bankrupt - not the first time I bet - and start all over again. All the resorts will be taken over by another company - shall we call it Ranch Somerfield (RanSom) and the salesman will be re-employed to cast their spell of complete lies. "You can use these points anytime and get the destination you want".
Only this time the POINTS system will be renamed - just to keep ahead of European Timeshare Legislation - and be called something like the CON system (CASH OVER NOW), oh how the salesmen employed by CON will have fun!
This basically is how some of the timeshare scum works. What a waste! Timeshare is an excellent method of getting away on holiday but it’s the greedy and unscrupulous in the system that spoils it for everyone.
What worries me is the new members of this cyclic cancer.
There are over 6 million timeshare owners in Europe and I wonder how many of them were conned in one way or another? Many consumer organisations, including the Mirror, try their best to warn of these con-men but there must be more done by governments and larger financial institutions. Let's face it, DRI want (no chance) something like £200,000 from me over the next 50 years - or from my children when I die. The law must protect the buyer so that in this situation they can claim back their initial purchase money plus compensation for harassment and inconvenience. This would make these con-men think twice before they use their PONZI (go on, look it up) systems on the general public.0 -
timeshare is for people who want to make money.....but timeshare turned its back and made money out of them....which means the people who wanted to make money lost their money.....so ultimately timeshare itself will eventually lose money0

Thanks for your posts above Mr Rough. Unfortunately I am having some difficulty understanding these. Some clarification would be most helpful."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

We have friends got one of their guest weeks in July who have timeshare with DR and we have got one of their guest weeks in July. The only small detail is that we have to go to a 90 minute presentation which we presumed would happen to all guests. We are not going to buy or ever will be so will sit there with our 5 year old twins who can make as much noise as possible playing, we can make an excuse to leave or my husband will jst go by himself with a good book and sit and read that during the presentation!!

look like fools when you refuse to accept that this is a offer of a lifetime,.never to be repeated.......are you so stupid to refuse to buy when you will get all your money back in three years and miss out on three years of luxury holidays.....and so on and on and on......these people are profesional mind benders...you will be lucky to get out with your dignity intact........just sign to get out and cancel later....where have i heard that before?...........please be careful.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
Thanks Antenna. We have heard of their tough and extreme sales pitches and the belittling of their 'future' clients but we have no intention of signing up and will leave half way if the girls play up. We are both strong people and will not tolerate being bullied and will jst walk away from their childishness sales 'talk'. They can not hold us against our wills and we will leave when we chose so am very much looking forward to their antics!!
Thanks though for the advice!:beer:0 -

I certainly do not agree with "Slugs" - I was initially offered timeshare in Tenerife 9 years ago, was taken around various resorts there & ended up in a large room with champagne popping around me, all in an effort for me to add my signature & join. Because of the hardsell attitude, I opted not to sign, collected my various Vouchers & left. The next day I used one voucher entitling me to free Car Rental without any problem. When I returned home, I made use of another voucher & booked a week's free holiday on the French Riviera - again no problem whatsoever.
In France, there was no hard selling at all & I opted to become a Member of GVC -made several timeshare trips since 2002 (12 to date) but I didn't return to Tenerife. In every other Resort I visited in the last 9 years (Portugal;Germany;Scotland;Austria;Paris;Devon;Normandy;Kent;Ireland;Norfolk) there was no hard selling at all - of course attempts were made for me to purchase more points but when one politely showed the reps that my points were being put into good use & therefore considered sufficient, there was never any pressure or hard sell at any of the aforementioned resorts, except in Tenerife where I didn't return to since 2001.
In the meantime, I continue to enjoy more than 1 trip a year with my Timeshare every year.
As I get older, if my kids are not interested, in taking over, I shall discontinue paying the annual maintenance fee when I deem fit - I sincerely feel that this is everyone's right to stop one's Membership whenever - the timeshare Company will indeed be stupid to take anyone to court whenever this occurs.
To conclude, be wise, grasp how the system works & then decide - if you don't like the look of the Reps or indeed their attitude, you must have the b.... and say 'No' - alternatively one is normally free to make decision.
