Last edited your message at 8:19am Trisontana awww what a shame did you make a spelling mistake too bless.
No, I added the sentence "You are fair game to us". Which you are, as we don't like con-artists and scammers. Now just go away and don't try and promote your dodgy company on here.

This is a money-saving forum, not one where certain people promote over-priced time-shares which can only be sold with the aid of a lot of high-pressure salesmanship. If the product was any good a simple leaflet would suffice.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Just go away you idiot. You are not welcome on here. It's a pity you can't correct your own work as you did mine.

roughandready, its a shame the lawyers who enforce the contracts your sales people pressurise people into signing don't have the same grasp of language as you have. As I thought I explained to you several pages ago you use one word when speaking but a different word when writing, so people (rightly) feel they have been conned into buying something (e.g. you've won a holiday but then find you have to pay an admin fee, or its only £x to buy but then discover you have to pay a forever increasing management fee for what you've already bought).

The whole setup, and as illustrated by your lack of understanding and competence in the use of English, is that its deceitful.

It isn't DRL, but the wife and I went to Disneyland Los Angeles and they actually sell timeshares as well. It is surprisingly similar to DRI and I believe it was part of RCI.

Their starting price was $18K with a $50 per month maintenance fee. It is also point based, has a similar presentation where they try to convince you of the 'value,' and 'ownership,' in a Disney property.

I asked the guy directly how often do maintenance fees go up and is there any limit to the increase and he basically lied to my face and said the rates never went up. I told him I needed that in writing and he said that wasn't possible.

Keep in mind this was on Main Street USA in Disneyland. It was one of several carts in the park selling timeshares and the guy had a Disney employee badge, so they are using the Disney experience as well as reputation to sell the time share.

We went to Disneyland on a 3 day park hopper pass as part of the City Pass program. Disney reminds me of being a kid and I had not gone in about 10 years, but we stayed in a 4 star hotel for 5 nights for $300 using Priceline.com, however the idea of going to Disney based cruises, theme parks, properties, etc., for multiple years or being locked into going to Disney based vacation timeshares would be hellish. Once every decade or so with people that never went or kids is fine.

The city pass we purchased from Costco for $227 each I believe. Now, call me crazy, but since we drove to Los Angeles and packed some food and drinks we had lodging, transport, and tickets covered for less than the cost of ONE year's maintenance it sure seems smart to plan my own lodging than be locked into a timeshare.

I hate how timeshare people show you these fine dining experiences, para sailing, boating, horse back riding, wave runner, diving, wine tasting, or these other fantastic vacation options, but conveniently forget to mention that none of this stuff is part of owning a time share.

Getting there by air, car, or other means - entry into attractions, food/drink/dining, alcohol, or any attraction besides sitting in your room watching TV or relaxing by the pool is going to cost you.

I was pretty surprised at the Disney timeshare cost and it reminded me of DRI and this thread. Pretty sure it isn't just DRI that is a rip off and stinks. Seems just about all timeshare companies are pretty much the same.
  • As a former UK-based employee of Diamond Resorts, I'm not only insulted by the remark that "the average DR employee has an Intelligence Quotient lower than their shoe size" but I also think it's hugely ignorant.

Given the rising rate of unemployment and redundancies over the last few years, not everyone has a good choice of who to work for right now. For me, I had the choice to either work for them or continue to be unemployed. As a matter of fact, I was lied to about the job, probably because I wouldn't have accepted the job offer otherwise. I was told that it was a "holiday" company, that I wouldn't be working in the call centre section and that I wouldn't be on the phones. But alas, I was put on the phones, dealing with the members of a "timeshare" company.

You could say that I was mis-sold the job, just like how many people allege to have been mis-sold timeshares. So calling DRI employees unintelligent would be like me turning around and calling all unhappy timeshare buyers unintelligent, which isn't true and wouldn't be at all fair.

I haven't come on here to defend DRI. In fact, I risk getting in trouble for voicing any of this. Rather, I wanted to defend my former colleagues, some of whom are decent, hard-working people with mortgages and families. But don't you worry, with DRI's outsourcing plans, you'll be happy to know that they're all being made redundant, one by one...

One last thing. It's absolutely pathetic to correct or take the mick out of someone's spelling or grammar over the Internet. What's even more pathetic, however, is when someone shows you up to be a bad speller and gives you a taste of your own medicine, all you can do is call them an idiot. I think we really know who has the lowest Intelligence Quotient in this thread.

The point was that the Diamond employee's rantings were so badly written as to be practically unreadable. Someone who was not a native speaker of English would find "after" instead of "have to" utter gibberish.

I don't know why I find these timeshare scam threads so fascinating. Perhaps it's because I've never been on a package/resort holiday, so it's like a whole new world.

    Thanks for your input formerDRI

I think what annoyed a lot of the posters on here was that an employee of DRI was singing the praises of DRI and in effect touting for business. Doing this on MSE for any discredited company winds up posters and touting for business is also a big no.

Feel free to post up any of their business practices as we would all be interested

Some jobs simply shouldn't exist in the first place.
These timeshare scams should all be closed down.

If that makes the people responsible for peddling this garbage and forcing people into disgraceful financial commitments on the dole, then bring it on.

YOUR financial bliss comes at a cost of hundreds of families being driven into financial hardship with little chance of a way out without the help of larger organisations.

Roughandready appears to have received very little education and has very little grasp of the simple written word.

You guys stick together, it has already been mentioned that maybe DRI should get someone who can write, to post on here...... and viola! we have one.

It isn't difficult to obtain an honorouble job in this World, you are simply scammers and your addition to the dole queue will not dissapoint.

Did anyone see tonight's New Tricks on BBC1 . The episode was called "Death Of A Timeshare Salesman" and featured a very dodgy timeshare owner and a poor guy complaining about rip-off service charges. I wonder if the script writers have been reading this thread?
