I have not heard of Clearwater stoves. But I fitted a Clearview stove which is British. Dunsley stoves are british too along with Town & country. There are probably lots of others but these stoves were on my shortlist.
Have you looked on "Whatstove" site to browse various Makes & models along with reviews? http://www.whatstove.co.uk/
Good luck.If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you! :dance:0 -
was thinking of getting the clearview vision 500 myself but have read that the efficiency levels on this stove are quite bad...Can anybody comment.0

Have you been talking to a salesman ?? ....
In the real world you'll find it impossible to achieve anywhere near the efficiency levels quoted by any manufacturer as it's also related to the fuel, it's moisture levels, the chimney type, the temperature setting of your burn ..... etc ....
Having said that, we've had a Clearview since the early/mid '90s and having just emptied the ash-tray, cleaned the glass and wiped the stove over with a damp cloth for the first time in a fortnight it looks as good as new ..... efficiency ? ... we burn around 3 cubic metres of wood in an average season and the stove provides the majority of the heat we need ....

Hi there,
We are looking to have a wood burner stove installed. Can anyone recommend reputable HETAs installer in Berkshire?
Thanks0 -
Best advice I can give you is to wait and get it installed in summer0

I bought a Clearview stove from advice given to me by the installer and glad I did. the Clearview stoves are not the cheepest but when you are going through a big purchase like this you do not want to be dissatisfied with it and have to re do it. the clearview does exactly what it says it is a top quality stove made in England and the glass stays clear due to the brilliant air wash system so not only are you warm but also have the clear flame effect you wished for.
I use unpainted/treated wood as I have a flue.I use discarded pallets, seasoned logs and smokeless coal.If you don't uses smokeless coal the glass may blacken or so I am told.I try to use free wood as much as I can to get the return on my investment ASAP.0 -

Which one did you get? We've got a Clearview Pioneer Oven and are very pleased with it.0 -
Hi apologies for jumping into this thread so late but...am considering getting a multi fuel burner fitted, (Firefox 5 with a 4.5k output) have had chimney swept and been told it won't need a liner as it's fine, (1940's built ex Council house) but I see SO many comments about you need one you don't need one, etc etc, also I have to get the fireplace opened a tad, (Got a builder for this) but no-one to fit the burnere yet, as far as i can see as there's no liner to connect to it should be fairly straightforward?
(Register plate, stove pipe etc) do I definetly need to get this passed off by HETAS or not, again many conflicting information out there I'm finding, to be honest it's getting to the point where I'm so hacked of with the sheer amount of it I'm considering just having a fireback fitted and going back to an open fire lol!
And there's another question why so much confliction around to line or not when an open fire doesn't need a liner, I know it's probably to do with efficiency of the burner but it just seems a bit of a minefield simply fitting one?0
