    Hello

I have about a dozen tortilla wraps that have been frozen and now defrosted so I can't refreeze them. They need to be used quickly, either cooked and frozen, incorporated into main meals - I can't eat them quickly enough for lunch wraps!

Does anyone have suggestions? Can then be baked into chips and kept a while that way? I really don't want to throw them away!

    Thanks

    H

What about a simple version of last Weds Economy Gastronomy:

Basically have a nice sticky filling between two tortillas and fry them on both sides. When I saw the original recipe I quite fancied trying it with refried beans and cheese.

This could be a main meal with a bit of salad.

you can use them like lasagne sheets and use chilli instead of mince it's really nice, you can brush them with oil lightly sprinkle ground corriander and salt on them cut them up and bake them in the oven but watch cause they burn quickly.

  • yes you can fry them and make into tortilla chips. add some chilli powder or whatever cheese you fancy. We add spices and mozzarella cheese then grill til cheese melts.

My nephews used to like them spread with nutella and had as a dessert either after dinner or in a lunchbox.

Or as nettles said, cut them into triangles, fry and then lay in a baking tray, sprinkle with a little salt, grind some black pepper liberally over together with a sprinkle of chilli powder if you fancy it and then throw over some finely chopped onion and grated cheddar or any cheese you have lying around and then put under the grill til all the cheese melts... Yum yum!

I love these ideas, but I should have mentioned that the ideas need to be diet too!! :rotfl: I would seriously blow it with all that cheese!

As Katy and thriftlady have refrozen I think I may give that a go until I can get some mince for the chilli lasagne idea.

Once off the diet I'll go with the cheesy ones!!

    Thanks for your help. :T

Hi , trying to cook something new to us each week and decided on wraps this wk. I know my sons friend has them cold at school with chicken and salad in. Want to do a hot meat version and also a veggie one tonight but not sure how to go about it, what goes with them etc?

I did buy this wk - chicken pieces, salsa dip sauce, carrot, pepper, spring onion, red onion, tomato, cabbage, brocolli, cucmber, lettuce, cheese beans, courgette, leeks but not sure what would go with it hot and how to cook the filling or what would go nice cold for the next day at lunch?

Any suggestion appreciated loads, i did buy a pack a few mths ago and had to check them out as didn't use them and really trying hard not to waste food at the minute! xx
