Dusty - well done on the kitchen - it looks lovely and the cat is an added cosyness!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Well I've finally plucked up the courage to subscribe to this thread
Thought if I did it might encourage me to be more proactive on the daily household chores   After the great declutter has got me started on clearing out the crap its just a case of organising my life to deal with the daily grind around a full time job and the fact that I would rather do anything (including cleaning out the chicken poop) than ironing or those other boring household jobs...
I am determined to make cleaning fun :j :j Is that possible?
OH is out tomorrow night so might print out the list, put the music on full pelt and go for it. Plus the charity bag is going out on Friday so if I get rid of loads of stuff that means less to tidy :T
Insiration still desperatly needed...................0 -
Well, I've done my feet but not got round to doing my fingernails yet.
I got too engrossed in the Jerry Springer 'Who do you think you are' episode to think about starting on the hands.
Whoever says the holocaust never happens needs taking on a trip in a cattle truck to Auswitch.
I found it very, very moving and very, very thought provoking....
And no, I'm not Jewish...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Welcome Laura D - you don't have to be mad to join this thread but it does help occasionally.
And cleaning can be fun - allegedly!I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Thanks Soappie ohhh I can handle manicures as a chore even if I'm not a girly girl still sounds more fun than ironing :j
I plucked up the courage to print off the list and may read through it in bed... if nothing else it may send me to sleep :A0 -
soappie - I've just watched that too, and DS2 watched most of it with me. He'll be covering that period in history next year. Very moving, and I thought the producers handled it with great care and diplomacy. I thought it was you threatening the tears and tantrums!
loopy-lou - Don't try to catch up too much, as the rooms will all come round again. Once the clutter is gone, and you get into the routine, it gets easier each week, promise!
:hello:Hi Laura and welcome! And jacqui as well, glad you and your nephew had fun!
dusty - I like the look of the kitchen!
hex - I am afraid I can take no responsibility whatsoever for any huge expenditure on bulbs as a consequence of recommending Peter Nyssen.Nor am I at liberty to disclose just how much I spent on tulips a couple of years ago, bearing in mind that my front garden is about 12ft square, and the back garden 40ft square... I go along with Anna Pavord, who says that you have reached the correct stage of equilibrium when you spend more time (and money) choosing tulips than clothes.
I have done a final flurry of decluttering in the kitchen, and have uncovered a previously invisible stretch of worktop. The challenge will be to keep it that way!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
The glasses weren't too expensive - I got them off the £20 rack (DD wanted to get some £60 ones for me  ). Since I'm on Tax Credits/Income Support I have a NHS exemption certificate so I'm making the most of it (I should really go to the dentists at some point as well
) so the glasses themselves cost me personally £9.50 but there wasn't a chance of me picking any of the "free" ones - they were either too old for me, blokes or just didn't suit me. Got myself some thin black metal framed ones which DD said made me look intelligent
:rotfl::rotfl:
Had a sort out of the ebay stuff - got 2 binbags of clothing to take to the charity shop instead. Will take them soon. Grabbed a couple of tops back out (smartish blouse & 2 casual tops) which might look a bit better on me now I've lost some more chest weightIf not, they can go in with the next lot of charity shop stuff
Off to tidy up some last bits then I'm off to bed. Don't think I can stand sitting up to watch the end of the match :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Laura - to start with, try Level One just for the correct day, do not try and start from the beginning of the week. The rooms will come round again, and the tasks vary. So, tomorrow, it's the floor in the bathroom. If you are inspired, then go for Level Two as well!It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
