Polkadot: If you come off your meds abruptly it'll make you worse than you were in the first place. It is worth trying counselling but from a physical, emotional and medical point of view you need to be weaned off the tablets, otherwise you will go into chemical withdrawal. This is negligent

The fact that the GP herself does not originate here makes it even worse, you'd think she would have some empathy with you. Your old GP sounds like he has made a sound medical judgement based on all the facts and your personal history.

Given all the above I would demand an appointment with another GP immediately so that you can get the medication you need and whilst you are there I would put a complaint in about the 1st GP.

    Huge hugs from me xx

    Thank you ladies

My head is swimming and my throat is all lumpy so I dont remember who asked the questions. Pharmacist explained that what I was on was a combi pill so as to boost my eostrogen (sp) as I have always had an overproduction of pregesteron. After the wedding we want to try for k2 so the plan was to up the needed hormones before coming off the pill. What she has prescribed today is progesteron only-so if I take it-Ill defeat the purpose of the first. In addition to this-changing pills messes with your hormones right? Add that to the fact that I do not have my other meds (and I have tried to get an appointment before so I didnt run out) and you get a hormonal basketcase:exclamati

The fluoxitine is an AD-I was on eglenol and cipromil before-both made me weird (please dont joke with me now that Im weird anyway-I dont think I can take it right now:) ) So I was put on fluoxitine in September last year and DF has never been happier. I had the standard 12 nhs councelling sessions anyway and old doctor decided that the history justified long term meds.
The new doctor is from west africa (says she with an american accent).
I am from South Africa, my mum was born in Battersea so I have been a british citizen since birth. I moved here last year June to be with DF

Oh, Honey, bless you, you've been right through it. Best thing to do is speak to your old doc to get some reassurance and see what they can do - maybe they can speak to your present doc and sort it out - You need your mind put at rest before anything else, so I would definitly give them a ring and see if they can help - as for being weird - we're all that or we wouldn't be doing this would we :D

Right I have had enough of the wall washing. I am so into this family tree lark now so think I'll go to the town, get something for dinner and pop to JL to look for sweatshirts. I wonder if I could do a course at the library on family history?

:grouphug: Polkadot - both pills are Progesterone only mini-pills according the the information I've seen, so the pharmacist may be getting confused. But you shouldn't notice the difference between the two - so try not to worry about that, you've got enough other things to think about for the moment.

Surgeries are usually closed between morning (9-12) and evening (3-6ish) sessions, as this is when GPs do telephone consultations/paperwork/visits, so it may be worth you calling a bit later.

Re DS & eczema - I saw on the nappy thread on the green & ethical forum that some mums have found changing to either terry nappies or eco-friendly disposables has helped with eczema, as the chemicals in the absorbent granules irritates the skin. It might help for him to go without a nappy for a bit and just get some fresh air (even if it is a bit chilly at the moment!)

Hope you're feeling better soon. :grouphug:
