So the paperwork is done including the food inventory. Ive told DF that if he buys one more pot of garam masala I'll have his head (we have 5 in the cupboard!) Finished the meal plan (properly this time) so now Im off to Mr T online to order. I did a "home shop" and found that I have 30% of shopping list in already:j
Will try to do some bits and bobs for first aid kit too. We have one of sorts but really not real good. I only realised how much we dont have when I printed the kit list off of organised home:eek:.DF let slip last night in a drunken state that Im getting a printer for christmas-apparently bought already but I cant have it yet:(
Shell I hate them too. A few weeks ago DS brought one to me on the stairs-trouble was it was dead! Im not going out of my way to find this one-DF is home for a week so its his issue.

I was working hard (honest) sorting the clean washing only I had to stop to deal with fighting children. Came back to this:

and finally finished today the side table my lovely DH made me for our wedding anniversery, rough sawn narrow oak planks to this:

which bodes well for my kitchen! Very proud of him as he has only recently really got into carpentry.

Serena - I will do some pictures this week if and when the rain stops. I was a bit stunned to find a newly planted this year double hellebore in flower yesterday, but really pleased because it is a pale pink double and I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. My cyclamen coum are mostly out as well - various things seem rather confused about the season.

Greenbee - I know, the garden looks so much better now for what I have done, which makes me want to get on with the next bit.

dusty - thanks for the tip re stabilisers unfortunately since i posted this morning the heavens have opened so that idea has been shelved.

greenbee - the fault was with the extension lead but think i will move the TD nearer the plug just incase it was what caused it.

soappie - glad you had a good night

hex & serena - i have googled Peter Nyssen and will also be looking tonight hoping to find some good quality bulbs for tubs next spring

  • Hi everyone!

I think I will gloss over fridays goals as I failed miserably on most of them.

    Todays list is:

    Do the tescos order
    Bake some bread
    water houseplants
Bake muffins (was given a huge bag of peanut butter m & m's and though I love pb, they are too rich for me so I thoght I might use them instead of chocolate chips.... nothing ventured, nothing gained!!)
    make another weetabix loaf
sort out parcels to be posted tomorrow

So mostly baking for me!! Have already done all emails and written a few reviews on the review site, so now I am posting on here and then getting on with my chores.

    hugs to everyone

polkadot soups i tend to make up with what i have in today it was 0
leek & potato - 1 large leek, 1 onion & 2 med potatoes, chop leek & onion and fry in butter & garlic, cube potato and par boil for approx 5-10 mins, add potato to leeks for a couple of mins and then 500ml chicken stock & 250ml milk if it needs more liquid i add more milk.

carrot & lentil - 3 med carrots, 1 onion and a couple of handfuls of lentils, fry onion with a garlic cove add carrots once softened add lentils then its approx 1 litre of chickcen stock after about 20mins i put it through the blender and thats it

I thought it was going to go horribly wrong when Daniel Cousin got sent off, but thankfully i shouldnt have worried. Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink got sent off 2 minutes later:D Was a cracking game, and we definately deserved to win:beer:

Been very hot and humid here. Now its its very dark and pouring. If it thunders you will find me under the bed with the cat. Although I am getting better with it.

    Sorted receipts out.
Put dark washing on clothes horse.
    Done dailies.
Looked on the net for xmas present ideas.

Now going to watch a DVD that I bought weeks ago.

lol, i love thunder storms! I'll be standing at the window watching if there is a storm:D

Cant decide whether to go to the end of festival fireworks or not, it is pouring here and very dark and cloudy. Dont know how much we'd see. Plus it would mean a very late night before school for LO.
