So how do folks check their receipts? Use a calculator as you put items into trolley so you know what the total should be? Remember the prices and watch the till display (while you're packing your bags)? Remember the prices and check the receipt after leaving the checkout? Wait till you unpack your bags at home?0

I can remember the offers & any reductions & rough prices for my bill;)
But i do work in finance:D
I do it as I'm walking away from the checkout & have finished before I pass the CS;)0 -
what's this about a £2 card?! i want one. our local asda is more like a 'guess the cost of your shopping' event!
You have to ask, you never get it if you don't ask for it. I don't know how accurate it is but I read somewhere it comes from their christmas bonus, perhaps someone from Asda could clear it up.:A :

I've asked if they still did it & was told no0 -
I ALWAYS check my receipts, and as I go around I add up the price of my shopping (OK, I'm blessed with a very good memory for numbers), but I'm sure you could go around with a calculator - that way if you are overcharged you know. Mind you, you should see the look on the face of some of the young cashiers when I have ten or so items and hand over the cash to the exact penny without going in my purse! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I've read this too. I ask for it and also show them a print of the relevant section of their website where this policy is mentioned. Here's the link to their FAQ page which details this policy, amongst other things (last question on the page) :

'What happens if I am overcharged?
If you have been overcharged in any of our stores we will gladly refund the difference (if you have been overcharged) and give you a £2 Gift card voucher for each productyou have been mischarged for'.
I think it's best to print out this page and carry it with you, just in case the CS people need written proof that this is indeed the company's policy.

i noticed my receipt was wrong and when i challenged it was given money back, when i asked about dtd, was told it was operator error and that dtd was only for sel mistakes? i was charged for 1 item 3 times and full price for 2 reduced items?0 -
