You should also check your bank deposit slips. I've recently had 2 deposits with the numbers in the wrong sequence. I deposited two cheques, one for 324.98 and found the receipt was for 234.98, the second was for my mortgage and was 634.30, the receipt was for 436.30!!
I've recently had to go back to Somerfields because they were advertising Lindt chocolate mini eggs at 2 for £3 or 1.99 each. I bought 2 but was charged £1.99 each. Just got a refund of the 98p and an apology.0 -

In fact I reckon to be mis-charged at least 4/10 times, so much so the Customer Service often recognise me and last time out of the corner of my eye I saw the lady roll her eyes to her colleague, then I started to feel guilty of highlighting the problems. BUT, how much money must they be making? I understand that Tesco have stopped their "Refund double the difference" policy, and it is at the staff's discretion. But I think they should refund double the difference, I think we should be paid that little bit for helping them do the job they should be doing in the first place.
Some of the things I am constantly watching is BOGOF esp on clementines and offer labels that have expired but still remain on the shelf. I've got a good memory for figures so find it easy to spot the mistakes on my receipt, esp because I am always trying to watch my pennies. I stand at the end of the checkouts checking my receipts everytime.

Hello bluejosiah,

Last time I was in I was over-charged and I asked if I would get double the difference back, and was told that they had stopped it. She gave me the over-charge on one item and double the difference back on another, as a kind gesture. After feeling slightly like a criminal for pointing it out, I wasn't wanting more confrontation by challenging it. I wonder if the policy is on their website.0 -
Had they taken down the large blue sign that spells out the DTD policy, about 3rd para. from bottom?CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I ALWAYS ALWAYS check my receipt at Sainsbury's- and 99% of the time it's wrong.
If I have any reduced items in my trolley I make sure I lay them on the conveyor belt so that the reduced stickers are easy to see-the checkout staff are only human after all...I also watch the till like a hawk when the reduced items go through just to make sure.
Literally every time after I've paid, I wheel the trolley to one side and scan the receipt to make sure the offers have come off too, and that there are no surprises..
I used to work as a price controller for Sainsbury's many years ago, so I know all the nerdy rules about ticket price errors and incorrect advertising, and also how hard it is to make sure all the price increase/decrease tickets are displayed properly in huge stores...
However my biggest grip was getting home and realising that when I asked for a new reusable bag as my other one had broken...the checkout girl had taken it to recycle and promptly charged me for another one which they weren't meant to do!
Probably the largest amount I had been overcharged was a total of about £5 from about 3 errors.....dull but true...0 -
there are self-scan tills in my asda and tescos, so i get to see the items scanned and then you know there aren't mistakes (or if there are, you made them!) Works best for me, and saves queuing too long.:money:0

morrisons are extremely bad for not updating their offers. the other week they had huggins of packs of tuna in springwater at various points in their store. on closer inspection the attached label which stated £2.99 for 4 pack was actually for tuna in brineand the springwater version was £4.99 as i had one scanned. my receipt is never correct there is always an error or an item that has been labelled incorrectly. check your change too cos some of the cashiers are hopeless cant add up or take away for love nor money0
