But £4k worth of services? What planet are you living on? The benefit of the doubt seems a bit redundant to me. But of course the OP could be telling porkies.
I'm guessing you asking what planet I'm on (Earth and in the UK if that helps) means you think that those prices are unrealistic but unrealistic for what? We just don't know what services the club claim were provided and therefore charged the OP. We don't know what establishment it was and if that price is what you would expect for there. For certain places 1k for an hour would be quite right, for some places too high for others too low. These places are expensive all round. If there was a 1k charge from a regular pub or a kebab shop then obviously 1k would be a lot of beer and kebab and seem odd but for the type of club the OP was in it's not out of this world.0 -
Yes but if he was scammed, this might happen a lot of times in one night at a certain place.
With the scammers thinking that the victim would be too ashamed to go to the police.

Honestly, in these sort of establishments £4k is not unheard of
I recall a few years back there was a restaurant in Mayfair that had the record for the most expensive dinner bill ever. 4 city bankers ran up a bill of £27k in one night. Apparently they were drinking vintage champagne at £3k a bottle.
Personally I'd be happy with a pint in the local pub for £2.60
The crucial thing here for the OP is to find out precisely what he has been charged for. Only once he has this information can he make an informed decision as to whether anything illegal has taken place.0 -
For £4k worth of services, were you able to walk the next morning?
For that much "how's your uncle" I doubt if I would be able to walk for a few days.I hate migraines.0 -

It was 4 x £1000 not 1000 x £4
I sympathise with the OP's dilema. I too have had nights where I've had to rely on other peoples recollections of how good a time I had but thankfully I've never woken up to anything this traumatic. It's a sobering (no pun intended) tale and a good reason to never go on a bender with credit cards (or access to additional cash) in your wallet. I try to take with me the max I'm prepared to spend spread around all my pockets and get rid of the bigger denomination notes at the start of the evening (it's so easy when you're steamed to hand over a £20 for a pint and walk off without even thinking about getting change back.)
Hope you manage to get something sorted."A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0 -
This is absolutely true, but it should be itemized.
We are talking about a seedy strip joint here - not a respectable family business that sells home made bangles & ear rings. LOL
These places are notorious for charging hundreds of pounds just for one drink & tourists are usually the most vulnerable customers.0 -
Will definitely go to the police tomorrow. At the very least, they can ask to see the CCTV footage.
I'm not sure what £4000 worth of fun looks like, but I don't remember having it on Thurs, and I'm certainly not having it now.
To those who've tried to help, I really appreciate your comments and consideration.
Thank you...0
