Seems like something that has happened in Soho, London loads of times. They've set up Bluetooth alerts now so if you go near the 'bar' an alert will come up saying "Bar X is a suspicous bar with a history" (paraphrasing here) and to avoid it!

Saw the OP last night while I was walking in town, he looked the worse for wear and almost fell out of the club he was in. Also saw a doorman putting his wallet back into his jacket pocket before they hailed him a taxi.
