Kind of reminds me of someones night out in limasol, cyprus.
Old credit card, never used. Taken away on holiday, maxed in one night.
1 week later, credit card reported stolen. Refund given.
That was the days when it was the paper machine things, and signatures.0 -
It's also possible that they charged 'Extras' on top of what he actually spent on drinks/entertainment. It wouldn't be unheard of for these clubs to charge several hundred pounds as a service charge for hospitality on top of the £100 - £150 they charge for a single drink.
A lot of the strip clubs in soho had reputations for frogmarching customers to cash machines to get money to pay their bills. I've not been but I gather you would be asked if you would "like to buy the lady a drink" - kerching - £500 for a bottle of sparkling wine.0 -
I read the first page and then skipped to here so sorry if I'm posting something that's already been covered.
Have a look at the finacial ombudsman service newsletters where they have real case studies of complaints.
This is similar to 2 complaints I read on there where people had complained under section 75 of the CC act - 1 where the bloke had had 15 transactions (i think) go through sequentially in the period of about 2 minutes - They ruled in his favour and 1 where the guy had entered a "gentleman's entertainment establishment" and had various transactions spread across the night. They ruled that without any evidence to point to fraud they had to conclude that the bloke had received the entertainment he had paid for.0 -
OP has gone very quiet :rolleyes:0

So was this 'someone' you ? :-)0 -
For what it's worth I think that you should call the credit card company and tell them you didn't make the transactions. Then I would ask them if they would like you to contact the police.
Would you like the name of a more reasonable and trustworthy establishment that provides for this sort of entertainment?0
