sorry but how do you know you didnt authorise transactions as you cannot remember anything for 4 hours >?
Im worried that your cc company allowed you to spend 4000 in the same place without quiering it .

Obviously, the concern is that you don't recall your time there. Have you reported this to the Police or told anyone about it?

I'm so humiliated, that 've only spoken to one person about this - they too suggested going to the police (in case my drink was spiked, or the Club has previous...)

I'll aim to got to the local station on Tuesday when I'm back in town.

If my transaction is PIN verified, is there anything I can do via the credit card provider? I'm guessing not...

Have you got definiation from the credit card company that the transactions were authorised by pin number, as you say if the last one was after the licensing time, you can report that one.
You could contact the police, and if they have reason to believe that a fraudulant transaction took trhey may be able to look at the cctv.

Its a very big long shot, but I think (maybe wrong), but with all the cctv lark, as a consumer you could argue you have a right to see the cctv as you were videoed without your express permission, it is a very grey area, but def worth a try.
have you checked to see if a small transaction went through b4 the £1,000 as it could be they tried a small amount and that went through, then the fraudster went for the whole amount, unless you can get any concrete proof you are responsible for the amount of money sorry.

Expensive night out, I hope your memory of it returns, who knows, you may have enjoyed yourself.

I wonder if someone saw you enter your pin the first time you did it (maybe you shouted it out cos you were pished, who knows?!)

If you were dead to the world, it would be easy to take your card from your wallet/pocket and do more transactions without you knowing.

Just had an idea ~ do they have CCTV???? Surely they would have incase something happened to one of the girls in there?

Can you not ask to see it, to see if you did actually get what you 'paid' for, or maybe you could see what time the transactions took place and how many times??

im not suprised your humilited , but im not sure that you will get your money back unless the club has previous
i would suggest you write to your card company and dispute the transactions asap , then give them the police ref number when you report this.

If it is a crime you will get it back ,

If it was because you were so drunk then its your own fault .

I can't know this for sure - like I said above, though, I just can't believe I'd knowingly authorise transactions of that level...

I would seek professional legal advice if I were you. My instinct is that you are going to struggle to do anything about these payments but the fact of the last charge being after the end of the club's licensing hours may at least give you some leverage.

Do you know what the charges were for? I am not suggesting that you post that information here but it might help if you actually knew what they were for. For example, Stringfellows has this 'Heavenly Money' thing which IIRC is something you buy and then wedge in the young ladies' undergarments. If this is indeed what you spent the money on then I am afraid there may be little you can do about it as it may be perfectly normal for men to spend several thousand in an evening doing such things.

A practical suggestion: if and when it looks like you cannot do anything about these charges, try and get a 0% credit card and transfer some or all of the balance to it. This alone will save your several hundred pounds over a year.

The £1k in your post got me thinking of something. I recently made a large purchase (~£2k) on my credit card and was told by the supplier, who is used to taking amounts of this size, that most card issuers usually let anything up to £1k go through and for anything more it is best to either call them up to let them know you will be making a large purchase or pay in several parts of under £1k, as this is more likely to go through. Hope this helps.
