Anyone not able to get their money even though feedback was left?

It was left over 2 days ago now, 3x positive feedback for 3 seperate items. And still says on hold post now. It's not immediately release at all. All the account is linked etc. What a farce. I have sold, the buyer is happy and still can't have my money.

took paypal 4 days to release mine, i sent a email and they released that day, even stating that they can see from my account that it has been released.. erm yeah today, 3 days after feedback was left! what can you do ebay/paypal hold the monopoly and they seem to be so big that they dont care there making a fortune. I'll sell my bits and then give it a rest, i don't like it but I tried ebid/tazbar and cqout and all resulted in no sales at all. That might be down to what i have to sell be even so I priced them under what i normally do on ebay and still no takers.
Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!

They have now released two, but one is still sitting there as on hold post now, I marked it dispatched ages ago, the buyer has had it two weeks, left feedback nearly a week ago.

    Crooks!
  • i got 1 feedback on the 16th, and another 4 today....
    no money released yet?
how long is every1 els waiting?
    so so annoying
  • At the moment Paypal is holding 2 payments of mine, bothe have been sent out, and both have positive feedback left, this was a while ago and after numerous emails to paypal they still havent released the money, i also sent the items recorded and gave htem this information but they just sat there are technical issues.

I love the fact that the only thing failing is allowing you to have your money, does their fees fail...never, does their holding system fail....never.

This is profetering and is illegal, i can only hope the credit crunch gets them as we have no hope in hell
  • Just a tip. If the hold is on quite a bit of money I found that a partial refund for the smallest amount $0.01 in my case will instantly remove the hold and make your funds available.

Hold my money will they. :)

They don't and aren't allowed to earn interest on it under financial regulations. It is purely as a security measure, quite extreme in some cases. It is generally in categories that are prone to chargebacks, hijacked accounts, stolen credit cards, etc.

You obviously don't know what your talking about. Paypal can and does earn interest on the money they are holding. They even combine many of the held payments and put them in one bank account so that the interest is higher. For some reason it is completely legal and they don't get in any trouble for it. That is why positive feedback should be left as soon as the item is received. I repair and sell iPhones on ebay and have 100% feedback and only had 1 dispute through paypal that was ended in my favor. I have sold many iPhones and I am just now starting to have my funds held. I think its a bunch of bs because I normally don't ship any items until I have the money withdrawn from paypal and in my bank account. I don't know of many companies that will ship any items to you without them having the money already either. It is a big scam and I don't think its a big deal that sellers ask for feedback early cause many people do it as a full time job and when their items about to end they are expecting that to be just like a payday for them. I recently was expecting to have $250 paid to me and in my bank account and got hit up with the held funds for the first time. It cause me to go overdrawn because I was expecting that money to be in my account and had to pay some bills. So yea its !!!!!! and its just another way for PayPal to make more money.

Call paypal the day positive feedback is left and they have to manually release the funds because their system says that they will be release once positive feedback is left. I called right after feedback was left and had the funds on the way to my bank account in about 5 mins. Also make sure to mention that you are planning on shutting down your account as I do everytime hoping that they will change the stupid system. If everyone that has this problem would threaten to close your account with them maybe they will change the way it works.

You're talking dollars which I assume is for Paypal in the US and I was referring to Paypal in the UK. These are in effect two different companies.
If you are referring to Paypal in the UK please show me evidence of the interest earnt, as this information would be in the public record. I'm not keen on being a Paypal apologist but the information I had regarding interest was correct.

There is no paypal in the UK.

They moved offshore to avoid UK legislation.

Paypal in the UK is not the same company as Paypal in the US (which is the only point I was making) and governed by the FSA via Europe (or something like that, can't be bothered looking it up!), but I'm not getting into all that with you again;)

I'm still happy to admit I'm wrong about interest if someone can show me Paypal UK accounts earning interest on held funds.

As far as I can tell the 21 days is on high risk sellers and/or items, the kind that costs Paypal in fraud cases and the ones Ebay would be happy to get rid of, they do their best to force them off and as I've said before there are other places to sell. I don't get why some sellers complain constantly about maltreatment from Ebay and Paypal yet continue to use them, get the hint and move on.
