Ive got a nice sausage & bean casserole
1 or 2 packs of sausages (depending on how many you wanna feed)
1 red onion chopped up
a few mushrooms
1 clove of garlic, crushed
1 can of chopped tomatoes in juice
1 tablespoon tomatoe puree
1 can of baked beans
1 small can of butter beans
2 tablespoons of worcester sauce
mix up chicken, beef or vegetable stock cube with 6floz of water
a pinch of chilli powder if you wish
lightly brown the sausages in oil with the crushed garlic
In a casserole dish add the rest of the ingedients & mix together or if you wish you can fry the onion & mushrooms with the sausages, whatever you want
Then add the sausages & cook in the oven for an hour & half
I have mine wish mash or rice0 -

I brown the sausages first, then add onion, two cans of any beans I've got, tin of tomatoes, and a Colemans mix. Tastes great!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Sorry I don't have an actual 'recipe' as I make it up as I go along with whatever I happen to have in!
Just one point though - do make sure you brown the sausages first....I forgot once and in a hurry I just bunged them in - they did cook, but sort-of disintegrated in the sauce.....DH & I thought it was horrible, but the SK's still enjoyed it.....The best advice you can give your children: "Take responsibility for your own actions...and always Read the Small Print!"

Hi I am planning to make a sausage casserole in the slow cooker but am a complete slow cooker novice.
should i brown the sausages in a frying pan and drain off the fat before they go in the slow cooker? im a bit concerned about all of the fat coming out of them and going into the casserole?
what would you do?
thanks,
