Congratulations to Master Taplady and Miss Squiggly Diddly.
I have ironed one (yes 1 !) shirt before I needed to go and feed little bear. He is now winding down for finally having a nap today. He has been in mischief mode all morning and I have been absolutely astounded at how many things he can now reach. I have done, I think, at least two aerobics classes by bouncing up from my chair with an  before taking something else off him that is potentially fatal. I am sure that there were not that many items at all in my living room, and he has managed to find all sorts. He has also managed to lose all sorts and when dear heart comes home I shall have to ask him to help me move the sofa to retrieve the cherry tomatoes.
The plants have arrived. Sigh. I am going to have to get in the garden when little bear is safely asleep and try and sort it all out. It doesn't matter if I get wet, with all these hit and miss showers but the monitor that I take out with me could end up a little wrecked if water gets into the electrics. I could just unpack the plants and leave them out while I get on with the ironing and then put them in this weekend.
Evil cat is a soggy moggy again as she insisted on going out, even though it was raining. Her fur is one of the things about her that is very dense, so she didn't realise how wet she was getting until she was seriously soggy. The only disadvantage is that she is still soggy but trying to sit on the mouse. Sparks seem destined to fly.
I think I shall see if I can unpack the plants and then GET ON WITH THE IRONINGAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Afternoon all
I managed to finish earlier today, once the mad panic of the exam results finished.
Sybil, thanks for that suggestion, Whatatwit, A homemade gift would definately not be appreciated, lol. They have 3 children, the first was christened C of E & everone had to take a candle and a present, for the 2nd they had a naming ceremony, it was officiated by a psychic numerologist & everyone had to take a sunflower & a present, this child is being christened into the Catholic church & I'm still awaiting instructions on what to take this time, though I have been told I cannot wear my wedding suit as it is red & black & the service is pastel colours only!!!! Oh the joy I get from hubby's family.
I managed to get a line of washing dry, it's not sunny, but it's breeze & hasn't rained, I must now go & blitz the kitchen & start tea.
I hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Have been out and planted my herbs - the garden is beginning to look softer - up until now it's just been the landscaping - now I can start planting which is my favourite part. So, now I have mint, spearmint and lime mint (in one pot), lavender, sage and chives in another and rosemary in a third. They're all cuttings / baby plants at the moment, but they'll grow! I have some thyme too, planted in an old wooden french trug with some lady's mantle and a blue flower whose name I forget!
The tomatoes are now starting to ripen nicely - enough to pick a few every two or three days.
Can't wait until the spring now, so I can really get started.

Later post than usual from me today, and sorry if I miss out anything important as have only skim read - will read properly when I have a bit more time later this evening:)
We woke up at 6am this morning to find our downstairs bedroom and bathroom flooded:( The bathroom is a disabled unit for my little boy and last week it was adapted from a wet room to a bathroom ( floor drainage was sealed and a bath put in), we had found a little puddle of water yesterday by the bath, but put it down to one of the kids messing about with the water. This morning it was everywhere, it had spilled into DS bedroom, and I couldn't mop it up faster than it was leaking!
So I then had to spend the better part of an hour convincing the Housing Association that it was an emergency-do-now job rather than a can-be-done-within-the-next-week job! So that was my morning, mopping and making tea for the wonderful plumber who came out and fixed it for me:)
Hope everyone else is having a good day and that anyone who is waiting / has family waiting for GCSE results got good news today:)0 -

Forgot to say earlier, it was Orange Wednesday so we got a 2 for 1 ticket deal, I had never heard of it before, I wondered why lots of people were texting in the queue, DIL told me so I did it and got a free ticket, very OS.
