Well, washing machine coming to the end of its cycle so soon I will be off to unload, hang on airer (dratted weather) and then put some socks and undies in that can cope with the tumble dryer bit. You see, I only have space for a washer dryer, and my tumble dryer is so temperamental, I have to be very careful what I put in.
It's not my usual postie today, and he has just tried to fit a lot of post through my letterbox. I thought he would try and get WD40 out to try and squeeze it through, my normal postie just knocks. The post has landed with a thunk so I will go and investigate in a moment.
Diva - evil cat is not that interested in milk, but you have to fight for every morsel of a tuna sandwich. No matter how many times she is pushed onto the floor, evil cat comes back to stick her nose as close to your mouth and tuna sandwich as possible. I wonder if they are related?
I think the local mad landlord is going to get the neighbour's roof sorted out. Or at least, he is talking with someone who looks like a builder and pointing at the roof. Mad landlord does skimp when it comes to getting work done, so I am confident that the builder should be wearing a stetson and not a grubby baseball cap. I need some loose tiles fixing but I think anyone used by mad landlord has a sort of reverse recommendation, if you see what I mean, because the landlord has had so much iffy work done that I am not sure I would trust any of his workman to hold open a door. He chooses workmen like that builder in Faulty Towers where he didn't put in a supporting beam - because they are cheap! I wonder if he will be able to avoid damaging our roof!
That is not very positive thinking, but I sadly suspect that it may be accurate.
Anyway, not feeling too dizzy at the moment so after investigating the post I am off to do my ironing!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Happy birthday catznine! :bdaycake:
Snowy - (((hugs))) Have you asked for feedback from your interview? I hate it, but at least you know what they're looking for next time you attend one. They probably did want you to tap dance.
Rchddap - so pleased for you
Shez - Santa's grotto already?

Well, thank you everyone so much for your concern over my puffy foot! I have been to see the doctor and she measured my calves (both of them are huge anyway). She has told me that it is indeed a puffy foot and I must keep it raised when I am sitting down, but most importantly walk around on it as much as possible. Oh and next time I fly, I must wear flight socks. In fact, I was contemplating getting some when we were at Auckland airport. :wall: I did suggest to DH that we need to fly first class next time....... :rotfl:
I've got some ironing to do this morningand the WM is on doing yet another load. Nearly at the end of the "holiday" washing. Goodness knows how you people with children cope!
I'll walk down to the market later this morning, which will get some exercise in. The lovely butcher had a deal on the other day, but I didn't have any money on me. Fingers crossed it's still on today: 3lbs of stewing steak and 4lbs of beef mince all for £10!!!!! All locally reared and slaughtered within a 10 mile radius of here.
Have a good day all. xxx

Pink - oh my, how on earth are you to manage? I have no experience with such matters that didn't leave me feeling completely confused and as intelligent as evil cat. I do hope they sort it out for you.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0

Hi all - a very late post from me because DH decided to take the day off; he has loads of quotes to do, which is a good thing, I know, but I wish he'd warned me! I shall spend most of tomorrow typing out the quotes - yawn!
I have to go back to the bank later because they are upgrading my account because my existing one will be obsolete by the end of the year. I insisted they handle changing all my direct debits - they expected me to phone all the companies up to do it. Because I said I'd close the account, they've said they'll do all the forms for me. After that I shall go to the gym then come back and do lunch then get on with some paperwork and a bit of knitting.
Dinner is a beef stew done in the Remoska.
(((Hugs))) to all who need them.
VickyA - good luck at the doctor

Good morning everyone!
Beth - Have you been to Killerton, that's another fab NT property?
Catznine - happy birthday, have a fantastic and fabulous day! _party_
Rchddap - great news about little Lily! It must seem like a big weight has been lifted from your shoulders to be given the official all clear!
Shez - it was me who mentioned the tickets, thought I might get a clip round the ear for talking about Santa this early in the year lol! Anyway booked mine as well - girls are excited already! :T
Vicky - glad your puffy foot is just a puffy foot! Fab bargain at the butchers, finger's crossed that it's still on today for you.
Snowy - good luck with the next interview, commiserations about the previous ones - you do realise that when you apply for a job as a go go dancer they expect you turn up in the outfit:rotfl:
Oh, and whoever has the dd visiting Weston, sorry can't remember name! Tell her to give me a wave - we're about 8 miles from there! I work in Weston though.
Not a lot done here this morning yet! Animals all dealt with a washing sorted, bm not needed on yet as still bread left from yesterday - used the fast yeast in sachets, just half a sachet though, and the bread was a lot softer and lighter, nightmare to cut though! Think I'll do one soft loaf and one normal loaf each day in future.
Planning a trip into Taunton later today, will finish school stuff, dds need sports socks, and must go to Cheddar to collect dd1's blazer, got a call yesterday to say it was in now.
No idea about lunch as everyone is just eating brekkie! Dinner was meant to be hm pasta, but might try Mrs M's tortilla wraps as have some whoopsied turkey mince to use. Will try to stay awake long enough to eat some as feeling very pooped today, have started waking up really early, must be ready for the troops returning to school
Must also go through the card making stuff I brought, currently spread over the dining room table where the girls were busy last night
Will pop back later, hope everyone has good days xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Had a nice day with Dad, after he'd had his blood taken yesterday. We went to the new massive garden centre for lunch and a mooch round. He was sitting in his wheelchair but glad to get out, bless him.Beth, the reason the nurse couldn't get his blood was because his veins are shrinking with the painkilling infusons he has:(
Today i'm taking a load or crAp to the tip, then goin for a natter at my mates. We talk non stop for hours:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
HAPPY BDAY CATZNINE:T :T

Morning everyone,
i`ve had a very busy morning as after i last dragged myself off here i decided to put the oven back on whilst it was still on cheapy electric time.
I never got the twinks made but i made two lovely banana and walnut cakes.
I put the washing on the line and tidied up the kitchen after Mr Sunnyday had eaten his breakfast and waited for him to open the fridge to get his sandwiches out, there were none waiting for himi`m awful really but i did it on purpose so that i could point out to him that he shouldn`t take me for granted and assume that i do every little thing in the house and for him too, it`s been getting on my nerves a bit these last two weeks, he had to throw a couple of sandwiches together really quickly before he rushed out of the door whilst i tried my hardest not to smirk
There was homemade soup and beef stew in there which he could have taken but he wanted sandwiches:rolleyes:
Myself and the houndies went for a nice walk with DSis and her two houndies and i picked about another 4lb of blackberries, i`m sure the young houndie is trying to scupper my best efforts as after DSis left she went tearing around the field with a lovely little staffy and she got my carrier bag full of blackberries wrapped around her foot so that went with her
Result - 1 purple dog and lots of berries scattered everywhere, i picked every single one up and they are now soaking in salty water in the kitchen and the ones that i picked yesterday are draining so that they can be frozen.
I` off to one of my neighbours shortly to sort out his laptop and camera which he seems to be confused about, also he can`t connect to the internet and has lost the piece of paper that i wrote down all his passwords on when i set him the connection up, i can reset the router as it`s one that i lent him months ago but if he can`t find anything else then he won`t be able to connect anyway as he needs the username and password from his ISP:rolleyes:
I can see this being a fun day:D
Rchddap1 - great news about your DD!
Troo - the pic that you posted is lovely.
Pink - sounds like a real nightmare for you, i hope that it`s sorted out soon!
VickyA - Good news that it`s nothing serious. hope it`s better soon
Catznine - Happy Birthday:bdaycake: have a wonderful day
BTW i checked the meter again before i put the oven on and again afterwards, i used another 7 units of electricity in the hour that it was on but i also had the wm dw and bm on and i also took advantage of the cheap rate by using the immersion heater to heat the water today, our normal overnight usage with everything on is usually between 3 and 4 units so i guess that the oven and water heater used 3 or 4 between them, it probably cost more to use the oven than to heat the water:eek: . 7 units is ok on the cheap part of the day as it works out at around 35p to run everything that was switched on but 7 units on the day rate is around £1.40p:eek:
Right best make a move.
Catch up later peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATZNINE hope you have a fantastic day.0

No, I fully agree. I've just done half an hour of ironing, so I'll go for a walk into town now (as suggested by the doc!), to get the blood pumping! (then when I get back I'll have a cup of tea and put my foot up.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
