Aldi Texas Joe Microwave Chicken in a bun ended up in the bin after one bite - the "chicken" looked like the brown mess next doors cat leaves on my flower bed and it will be the bin for him if I ever get hold of him0

Microwave chicken in a bun is never a good idea, wherever it comes from.0 -

I can vouch for Aldi's St Ettienne being a great lager.
I've said this before but it's as good as "Real" Belgian Stella Artois(tastes like freshly baked bread MMMmmmm), not the crap you get from Whitbreads, Brewed in the UK.
I bought some this week and hated it - maybe I had a bad can as it had the most apalling aftertaste and made me feel sick! May just be my taste - my tipple of choice is Red Stripe, but I do drink Stella as well.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
I just had a shop at Netto. For chocolate cookie fans, they are doing "The cookie shop" Chocolate chip cookies for 59p. These are easily the best I had ever had in the uk, better than your mc'vities, burtons etc. They taste very similar to a 'american' brand stocked in Morrisons (can't remember the name) but they are very nice.0

One of my Lidl discoveries has been their sesame seed crispbreads. They are an excellent alternative to the Ryvita ones & at 35p pack, almost half the price.
You need to look for the red pack, only they seem to pack both the plain & the sesame varieties in the same carton. The plain ones are in a blue wrapper.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I have just noticed this from a posting here.
The web site says it all, maybe you get much more than you bargained for from LIDL.

I think that Martin in the same way that he is campaigning against secured debt, we should draw the line with respect to "cheap" shops that are allegedly undermining employees legal and human rights.0 -
I will be trying Lidl next week in Brighton and see how I feel - if it's really that cheap, I will check expiry dates etc and make sure I don't waste food. It will help us no end to reducing how much we spend on shopping.MFW #185
