    Do buy

    Mushroom cup-a-soup
    Tinned veg
    Strawberry crisp cereal
    Waffles
    Cookies
    Fruit shorties
    Crisps
Mayonnaise (green squeezy bottle w/added herbs)
    Squirty cream
    Frozen paella
    Frozen roast chicken dinner
    Mars ice cream
    Neopolitan ice cream sandwich wafers
    Frozen veg
    Wine gums/fruit pastilles
    Imitation twix/mars bars
    13p flavoured noodles

    Don't buy

Malt crunchies (like cardboard - supermarket own brands are far nicer and much the same price)
    Frosted flakes (always taste stale)
    Flavoured sliced chicken breast
Yeast extract (some things you can't compromise on. Marmite is one of them)
The 28p white bread (once again supermarket own brand are much nicer - and softer! - for the same price)
Giant gateau (usually £3.99 - bought it on offer for £2.99 once, never again. Very synthetic)

Fruit & Veg depend very much on the store, although they often have offers so it's worth stocking up even if it's not the greatest of quality. Their iceberg lettuces are always a bit pathetic looking, mind. ;)

Just added that this is LIDL (ta rafi)

auditbabe - see above for yeast extract opinion. (Not good!)

Might be a good time to try out Lidl at the moment.

At Lidl in Hayes, West London, they have half price on all fruit and veg at the moment. They had loads of it too!

I can't promise this is at every store but it's certainly worth a look if there's one near to you.

    Cheers

Hi Bettyboop, have to agree about the Aloe Vera toilet roll, it is very good. Went to Aldi today and spent £76, didn't think it was possible !

Don't buy - cling film. Last lot I bought won't cling to anything!
  • Aldi have dishwasher cleaners at about £1 for 2, work out about 1/6th the price of a finish cleaner and just as good.

I only have an Aldi near me, and like others have said its a bit trial and error with some of the products.

These are my faves .. 2 piece sirloin steak pack ( chiller) £2.99
    2 piece gammon steak ( chiller) £2.99
Jar of dried herbs-with grinder- 69p
    Meatballs - ( chiller) £1.99
    Backon-lean- ( chiller) 89p

I also buy pasta, pasta sauces, stir fry sauces, wine and occasionally bailys immitaion £3.99.

I dont like- part baked baguettes- I thought they had a funny taste - OH liked them, so maybe it my cooking!
And you have to be careful wih the fuit, but only as it seems to always be bruised.
