Just what I came on this forum to find out; I have a Lidl Lasagne lurking in my freezer after buying it on recommendation from my sister, but I am very suspicious of ready meals.... Will try it tonight0 -
ALDI - DON'T BUY!
This week, we purchased some 'White House' wine (the Rose one) to try. We weren't expecting too much, at £1.99 per bottle, but thought it was cheap because it only had 8% alcohol. Well, it didn't resemble wine in any way - it was like drinking a fruit cordial. On looking at the website on the bottle, it appears that this 'wine' has never seen a grape - this company specialises in fruit wines. Anyway, we didn't like it all, and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone who enjoys a glass of wine with their meal. We added some Angostura bitters, and a drop of Bacardi to the rest of the bottle, and it went down rather well!0 -

What type of person is going to think that 8% wine at £1.99 a bottle is going to be anything like wine is more the issue?!! Maybe it was the perry stuff you got. Which is actually a cider.
Wine for £1.99 - I don't think so.0 -
Does the Budget alcohol price increase start on Monday?
Last chance to buy "white cider"0 -

I think the guy who bought the £1.99 "wine" didn't read the label at all. I have seen similar stuff in Lidl on offer for 99p. It looks like it is in a champagne / sparkling wine bottle.
I know you can get Cava pretty cheap but even £1.99 I would still read the label to find out the % and what it actually was.
Maybe if the poster wasn't so inebriated before he went shopping he may have been able to read the label!!0 -
Absolutly not premium each four beefburgers provide about one beefburger fat equivalent, all may be beef the fat and the meet, but fat is most definitly not premium beef ...should just call them 100% beefburgers not premium + smells horrible when cooking and taste ...well not too good...
don't buy @ LidlLidl:
Do buy Proviact Natural yoghurt with Bifidus wotsit, better than Onken
Don't buy Moordale Frozen Beef Burgers 99p for 12. Disgusting!
Having said that have shopped there for a couple of years and am well pleased with everything else.0 -
Ok here are the things we love from Lidl.
Milbona yoghurt peach and passion fruit, fave yoghurt in the whole world!
Jars of Balti sauce (green lid 75p) again best curry sauce ever!
Castlerock Pies and Cornish pasties, excellent at £1.45 for 3 (fresh)
Fresh beefburger £1.99 for 4 (really meaty and tasty)
Harvest basket frozen chips. £1.25 for 2.5kg (long straight chips without black bits!) really tasty.
Glen something or other sandwich ham is also good
Crusti croc multi pack of crisps £1.99 for I think 26 packs
Frozen fishfingers in blue packet (pollack fillet)
We do about 85% of our weekly shopping in Lidl. I think you just have to get used to what you like from there. The Milbona Yoghurts are in big pots
with re-sealable lids, why they give you the re-sealable lids I don't know as once you start eating one, it's impossible to put it back in the fridge!0
