A real work at home job part 2

Hi guys,
I applied for the Teletech Customer Adviser position only to be offered Inbound Sales agent. It's not something I object to greatly but because of commitments in January -- my exams for one thing -- I can't even start training since I've been told they're during the day.
I was wondering if anyone's starting training soon and what their times are? Would it be possible, do you think, to be considered for the role I originally applied for? Is there still vacancies available? I don't understand why I got the other in the first place *sigh*
I'd really like to start any job as soon as possible and not wait near two months for it. What would you advise I do?
Really appreciate any advice. Thanks!
PS: I nearly collapsed of ironic laughter when I thought I'd lost all this. I'm not good with words and it takes me bloody ages to form sentences sometimes! Certainly would have been a memorable first post!0 -
Go back to your recruiter and ask, there are positions going in both roles, make it clear you would prefer the tech role but if they feel you are more suited for the sales role they may have a reason why they are not offering the tech role.0

Can anyone tell me the hours for the Tech Support on a Saturday and Sunday. I think it was 8.00 - 6.00 on both days. How many hours on each day do people work generally. I wouldn't mind 4 hours each day but 6 would encroach on my "family" time. Its catch 22 because my recruiter told me I wouldn't find out my hours until half way through training and I would be leaving another job for this job. Would you guys already working for the company mind telling me what shift patterns you work. If you don't want to post, could you pm me? It would be greatly appreciated.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Tech support via TT runs through to 2300 each night so I don't know where you are getting those times from.0

Oh, that must be the inbound sales role which is just on a Saturday, I did make notes as a I went along but I must have lost that piece of paper.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 607 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts :T

Think its sales that do those hours (lucky swines) but tech support go through to 11pm each night. TT recently expanded the weekend hours so you may be able to request an early start for those days but as you have found out you will not be told what hours you have successfully requested until part way through training. After training you may be able to shift bid but that does not always happen. There is also the possibility of a split shift, don't know if that would be any good to you, a few hours at one end of the shift spread, couple of hours off then back on calls.0

Yip- the inbound sales hours for a Saturday are - 8.30 am to 6pm. It is very unlikely you would be working 6 hrs in a row if you are sales- most people only work 4.30 hrs in a row- that way you don't need a break or lunch. Usually split shifts- I work everyday on splits- just half hour in between, Some others work few hours in morning and few at night etc.Auddel0

Hiya guys,
Having passed the online assessments last week, I had my telephone interview with a Teletech recruiter yesterday.
She called me back a couple of hours later, to let me know I had the job!
I now have to print off / complete / fax off the 'Background Check' form..and this has made my heart sink
Do any of you know just how thorough this check is?
I have a Police Caution from April 2004, but as it's a 'Caution' and the form only asks about 'Unspent Convictions', I can legally tick the 'No' box can't I?
Also, my other concern is that in the small print at the bottom of the Experian Background Check form, they say, that they'll do a Credit Check too *sigh*
I still have 2 Satisfied Defaults (dropping off next Feb), 1 Satisfied CCJ (not dropping of for another 4 years yet), and 1 Discharged Bankruptcy (dropping off in January '09)
I'm so worried that because of this, once they do the check, and it all shows up on my Experian file (which it's bound to, as I've seen it on my credit file online with Experian), Teletech will then withdraw my job offer
One final worry is regarding the references. My last employer of many years was my Dad (which I told her during the interview). Can I put him down as a referee? Also, how do they contact them for a reference? By email / phone / letter?
Have any of you had similar concerns / know how in - depth their checks / references are?
I really need this job!
Any advice would be most appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Leigh.

They normally contact by letter for references and don't hang around doing it either. Don't worry about your credit check as many people from this forum have been through the TT process and obviously many of them have issues with their credit scoring0

Many Thanks for the info Paul.
I was more worried about the credit check than the CRB check really.
My 'Caution' from April 2004, is classed as 'spent' as soon as it's issued I think, so it was the credit check that was causing me more worry!
I've faxed it across now, and have emailed the reference form too, so wish me luck!
Thanks again.0
