1. I have worked for the company since April and thoroughly enjoy it and have no problems.
2. Weekend working- if you were on a saturday morning you would most likely need to get someone to swap shifts with you- usually easily done- people always eager to do overtime.
3.day shifts are available- it depends on the clients needs- they are usually offered by email and you 'bid' for them- it is not guaranteed you will get the shift you want. also keep in mind- we are not allowed to work more than 4.30 hrs continous. most of us do split shifts through the day/night.
4. overtime paid at normal rate. if your shift falls on a bank holdiay monday you have to work it at normal rate. Bank holdiays not regonised by company except, christmas day, boxing day, new years day and easter (think that is all)
hope this helpsAuddel0 -

hi guys
Ive applied for teletech role and have been advised that their training starts next monday and finishes on January 9th. I assume we get xmas day and boxing day off, but what if we have plans to go away? I was hoping to spend some time with relatives over xmas - perhaps I could work at their house instead of mine? Also, is getting time off during training (for a few days in between xmas and new year) a definite no-no?
Thanks for any help you can give guys.0 -

we are off christmas day, boxing day and new years day. they wont be too happy with taking time of during training and may advise you to wait until next training group starts. if you were out of training/nesting etc you would still have had problems getting the christmas period off- some people applied for the time of in august and were refused as so many wanted it.Auddel0 -

something I didnt ask about time off was - summer holidays, I was asked if I had any commitments in the first 90 days but not after that, we always go away first two weeks of august and thats already booked, so how does that work?
Also in a typical shift plan what breaks? I am going to work 34 hours they told me it would be between 8.30 - 4.30 daily and 8.30 - 6 saturdays.0 -

My advice is to request leave as early as possible as some leave it too late and their request is denied. I started in April and had holdiays booked for July - I had no problem getting the time off. I also requested leave at Christmas in August and got it too. I dont think you can request next years leave until January when the new year of holdiays begin.
Reference breaks, if you work more than 4.30 hrs but less than 6 you get 15 mins break. More than 6 hrs you get 15 mins and 30 mins lunch. HOWEVER, in sales, no-one is allowed to work more than 4.30 hrs in one go- most of us have split shifts in a day. For example, I work from 4pm to 6pm then 6.30 to 10.30. Therefore I do not get 15 break or lunch (even though I stop at 6 which is really my lunch lol). Becasue of this not many people actually get 15 mins breaks or lunch unless they are working overtime. BUT, you do get a 12 min 'comfort' break each shift you work which can be taken anytime and does not need to be taken all at once. As I work a split shift- I get 2 comfort breaks. In tech this maybe different- I can only speak for inbound sales teamsAuddel0 -
