    Yeah thanks for the kind words TimeWarper, were all still arround so if
    you have any more questions feel free to ask us.
  • Thanks wildt, Tibbie's mum, and Oliver.

    I have applied for tech support and am the proud owner of a workbooth cd :D

    Just have to get through the interview stage - well, that and loading WB.

    Although I was rather hoping not to require help this early on I've done everything I can think of and am now stuck.

    It all starts well, I get penguins, coloured text, all looks ok but then I get (as on screen with appropriate colour):-

    Loading PCMCIA bridge driver module: yenta_socket WARNING: Not loading blacklisted module yenta_socket.
    .
    Starting IP Flow Meter: disabled, please tune /etc/ipfm.config
    Executing /etc/init.d/xsession start:
    {blurb}
    Probing/Loading AGP modules...
    Starting the X Window System...

    --- CRASH!!!! Well more accurately a pop up stating "Out Of Range"

    First things I switched out my USB keyboard for a wired and then tried the codes. Typically the last one I tried was the only one to have any affect.
    If I type "linux xmodule =vesa" I get a splash screen (looks like a daisy with sliced red onion on it) then it tries to do something and I get a firefox (my default browser anyway) message saying unable to connect.

    I guess my main queries are about the blacklisted yenta_socket (I feel strangely guilty!!) and what is causing the out of range and no connection messages.

    Everything is fully wired and this is the only machine on the router. Many thanks and sorry this is an essay.

    try cheat code

    screen=1024x768 vsync=60
  • thank you Oliver I'm going to make a note of that one as well for future reference....

    ... but, I got the test pop up, entered ID and got a screen saying everything works. I'm all :D

    Earlier I was so frustrated I just popped the disc back in entered the '...vesa' code; it was running through its checks when I remembered I had left my (older) wireless keyboard attached. Thought I would let it get as far as it would go and power down, but it didn't stop.

    Now all I need to do is pass my interview so I shall let you know how I get on.

    See you soon (hopefully on the other side) :beer:
  • I'm going into nesting on Monday, & am now having a nervous breakdown!!!!!

    Tibbies Mum- the experienced agents will be on chat to help you - so don't worry. Just one bit of advice though - if you ask a question on chat and no one replies immediately - please hang on as we will most likely be taking calls as well and will get to you asap. there are lots of experienced agents there and everyone wil try to help you out. Don't forget to use the help tool you have been told about in training- it is very good and often you can get the answers from there quicker lol. Look forward to maybe helping you tonight. If you get into any sort of difficulties, just explain to customer it is your first night = they usually feel sorry for you lol. You won't be on your own:beer:

    Timewarper-you're doing pretty much what I did. I followed Oliver through his posts from application to training to nesting and then applied -that was a year ago now !
    Thanks Oli :)
