Hi Guys.
I wonder if anyone could tell me if this is the job for me.
I have experience working in an I.T Dept so I am very computer literate.
I've done some customer service in other roles but would prefer a tech role.
I can only work (even at home) a max of 24 (preferable less) hours a week and don't want to work after 6pm or the weekend as I value the time I spend with my girlfriend (she works 9-5 during the week).
Is it worth me applying for a role or would my needs not be flexible enough?0 -
In a word probably not. You will be asked to have availability from a time in the afternoon through to 11pm, you will be asked to work a shift at the weekend and if you cannot do that you will probably not get very far.0

Oliver27- just to let you know- still having problems with new computer- was on with our tech support all day yesterday trying out 22 different cheat codes - no luck. then they decided it was my blueray cd/dvd drive and that I needed to buy a external one- went and bought one but still the same- only get to the welcome page on wokbooth but can hear the cd going as if it loading. The workbooth cds do work in other laptops (tried it on my wifes university one) and my cd/dvd drive on new computer plays music and movies no prolbem (and they are not blue ray). Even phoned the laptop manufacturer who said, 'linux is not compatible with vista'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it worked ok on my other computer lol. Any ideas????

I got a new laptop with Vista and Workbooth works fine. Well, I've got 3 discs and one of them works! Someone in my team had a problem like you auddel and they bought a new cd drive and it works now.
Must be really frustratin for you, sorry I can't help..but I hope to see you back with us soon!!0 -
ok-next installment- apparently it is now my graphic card- they want me to bring my new computer back to the shop and get it downgraded to a less powerful one etc- the shop said no- as there is no fault with it- so - workbooth cd ruins one computer- i go and buy a new laptop - it does not let workbooth cd load- tech suppport tell me i need an extenal cd drive- i go and buy one- still does not work- now my graphics card is not workable with workbooth- so basically- for the last week i have not got paid but am out of pocket by £700 - and still cannot work cos my laptop is 'too new' -Auddel0

Are there any alternative proper work from home jobs of a similiar nature to Teletech that anyone is aware of?
I had a look at the British Gas one through Contract Xchange but I'm not paying any licensing fees and especially not for my own training!
Thanks0 -
Hi
Over the last few days I have read over 100 pages of this thread (starting at original page1) and have followed many of you from your applications through training and finally to nesting where most stop posting - guess that's due to confidentiality.
Some seem to have dropped by the wayside without an explanation and I am curious as to what happened. It's been like reading a strangely one dimensional book and I'm nosey and want to see what happened to everyone after the story ends!
But, I guess my real reason for posting now is that the support you have all given each other is phenomenal and is a real testament to your characters; with Special Mentions going to Oliver27 and PaulK for their seemingly endless patience and wealth of knowledge.
On the strength of what I have read - both the good and the bad - I am going to apply to TT and see what comes of it. If I am lucky enough to be considered for a job and end up on a team with folk half as good as the posters in here then I know I'll be very lucky.
Good Luck to you all and thank you for your 'diary' entries.0 -
TimeWarper we're all still here!!:o Just working lots of teletech hours so not much time to post lately!!
Just finished week 12, the last week of probation, and still going strong. Got a great group of people in our team and really enjoying the job.
Good luck with your application, are you applying for sales or tech support? let us know if you need any help with anything.0 -
I'm going into my 3rd week of training on Monday, it's a bit intense but I'm really enjoying it. I'm impressed with the quality of the training, plus you get paid for it!
Go for it, TimeWarper.....Good Luck, it's well worth it!0
