It isn't selling (the other thread covers the sales positions)-this is tech support.
Try reading the FIRST post and all will be clear -and will also direct you to the sales thread if that is your area of interest.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I'm really tempted to apply for the Tech Support (Customer Services) role but would be grateful if you could tell me what kind of tech phone calls do you receive? are you supporting a particular product? How many calls do you receive per hour?
Also how difficult is the tech support? I have 1st line and 2nd line experience in IT
I don't want to go too far into applying without having a better understanding.0 -
Its tier 1 support for a major ISP, calls per hour is hard to say
it can range from very busy with hardly a gap to 10 mins.0 -
Hiya guys and girls, iv applied and have an interview on Wednesday. I do have customer service experience, but i know they will ask give a time when you had 2 deal with a difficult customer, what did you do? ... I have never had such experience in my 8 months at work, so what could i say?
Any other tips to score the browny points in the interview?
Once again thanks for all your posts, very interesting reading 250!
Best Regards
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it ....0 -
Since I last popped in I had a couple of interviews postponed and when I did get the call it was to say they were happy with the answers already given and I had been accepted. Yay!
I heard nothing for a couple of weeks, sent an email, and finally got an email saying my start date would be December 1st for Sales.
I applied for Tech Support, I've never done Sales, don't know if I would enjoy it (but prepared to have a go), and now am really unsure what to do.
Do I accept and if I don't like it hope I can transfer over; or call them up and be really cheeky thanking them for the job but it's not the one I applied for. I don't know if from the answers I gave they have decided i would be better in Sales and that's why it has changed.0 -
can someone answer me a really silly question please and tell me what they put in the "desired salary" box of the application? Lol I know it sounds ridiculous but I have no idea what to enter. I only want it part time as in the 20 hours ish but don't wanna write to high or too low amount

Hi baxgttdi, not a silly question, I thought the same but didn't have the sense to ask.
If it was a paper application I would have left it blank as I consider it none of their business, but more and more with online forms you cannot leave the field blank0 -
guess no1 else has the answer eitherLBM 2 - 27.05.09. Timewarper, that's what happened to me. And I'm really glad it did. As it's inbound sales, the people calling want to buy, so I think it's easier than dealing with Tech queries when you're having to second guess a lot of stuff.
Good luck for 1st Dec!0
