(((hugs))) to everyone
feeling really angry right now towards one of sons schools, they are letting him fall further and further behind in his school work, that i am thinking of paying for private tuition, even tho i am living on benefits. ds is struggling to do maths books aimed at kids age 5-7 has no idea of basic maths.
yet they are insisting that he takes part in motorcycle lessons
they have sent home a consent form, in which i am supposed to sign and agree to pay any damages etc, there words, indemnify, had to google it lol
am not happy, and am not signing, :mad:enjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0 -
thanks to all for welcoming posts, what a great bunch you are.
Feeling fine today, no doubt because I've been busy, is a work day for me, plus my youngest started high school and my eldest started year 11. They both came home early so we had tea at the proper time, my eldest got her results from the GCSE's she took last year, she got an A and 2 B's, which is brilliant, we had a proper tea for once and everyone one in the house is happy (the 3 of us), so all in all, a good day. Work again tomorrow, so should be good, I don't work Fridays though, so that's when I get fed up, nothing to do, no motivation etc
Not sleeping well at all at the moment, took 2 of those herbal sleep remedy tablets last night, but was still tossing and turning at 2am.
Thanks for listening, lol.0 -

Hi shaz!:hello:
Thank you for the welcome home shaz hunnie.Let's have a look here angel...

If they are insisting that this twin (is it the one at residential school shaz?) participates in motorcycle lessons, then there must surely be a fund to cover the costs for parents who can't afford such a liability. You should have the right to refuse permission and opt him out if you don't want him to learn this for whatever reason, be it safety or for personal reasons.
Both of these options are available in everyday schools. Schools and colleges have funds so that no student is disadvantaged due to lack of finances. I don't think they can make him do it angel - so you just ''insist'' right back that you are not signing the form!
As a separate issue, you should ask for a meeting with his tutor/head teacher over his lack of progress in school work. He may be unable to grasp these skills but it should be checked out that the school are fulfilling their duty of care in educating him.
As you know hunnie, I am no expert so I went down to the Tiffy archives and found these links for you to check. I haven't been through them thoroughly angel and I can't vouch for their content, so please always use your own good judgement. Maybe you could even get a second opinion from a social worker?
Here you go shaz...

RE: SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING
In order to assure the highest levels of quality work and productivity from
employees, it will be our policy to keep all employees well trained through
our program of SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (S.H.I.T.). We are trying to
give employees more S.H.I.T. than anyone else.
If you feel that you do not receive your share of S.H.I.T. on the job,
please see your manager. You will be immediately placed at the top of the
S.H.I.T. list, and our managers are especially skilled at seeing that you
get all the S.H.I.T. you can handle.
Employees who don't take their S.H.I.T. will be placed in DEPARTMENTAL
EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROGRAMS (D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T.). Those who fail to take
D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T. seriously will have to go to EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE TRAINING
(E.A.T. S.H.I.T.). Since our managers took S.H.I.T. before they were
promoted, they don't have to do S.H.I.T. anymore, and are all full of
S.H.I.T. already.
If you are full of S.H.I.T., you may be interested in a job training
others. We can add your name to our BASIC UNDERSTANDING LECTURE LIST
(B.U.L.L. S.H.I.T.). Those who are full of B.U.L.L. S.H.I.T. will get the
S.H.I.T. jobs, and can apply for promotion to DIRECTOR OF INTENSITY
PROGRAMMING (D.I.P. S.H.I.T.).
If you have further questions, please direct them to our HEAD OF TRAINING,
SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (H.O.T. S.H.I.T.).
Thank you,

thanks for the hugs katie, and the advice tiff, much appreciated as always.
its not the twin at the resedential school,, but the other one who is also at a special school.
Rang ACE this morning, and told them of my concerns, and they adviced me of my rights regarding this issue, so i have been into school, and spoke to the deputy head voicing my conerns mainly safety, my son struggles to balance a push bike, and often falls off, so i consider him on a motorbike as far too dangerous. also i am not prepared to pay for damages to bike due to him falling off, when i dont wish for him to be there in the first place. the deputy head explained that a lot of young lads go out and ride bikes, and thought it would be a good idea for them to learn in safety, which i agree, if they gonna do it, then fine, training is a good idea, but it shouldnt be forced onto those with no interest in it, and those lacking in the ability to do it.
she tried to talk me into signing the form, but i stood my ground, she said he had to go, because there was not enough staff, (only a small school), and nobody to stay behind and teach josh, so a compromise was reached, where i will keep joshua at home on a monday morning, and focus on some maths work, which he desperatly needs to catch up on.
feeling rough this morning, as hardly slept, and sore throat, am starting with cold. supposed to be going to look at a gym this afternoon too, dont feel up to it, and if i was going alone, i would have bottled it, but am meeting my key worker there, so shall see how it goes. she did say, as its the first time, i can just go and look, and not go on anything, depending how anxious i feel, so at least i have her suport, which is good
hope everyone is well
big hugs
shaz xxxenjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)0
