As a person who never goes to McD's but loves Coca Cola stuff I went along to McD's yesterday and asked first before ordering did they have the glasses and what colours, we wanted 2 meals/glasses, they had pink and light blue. So bob's your uncle we ordered 2 large meals and had a glass of each colour. Had they said no glasses in stock I would've walked out and either gone to another McD's or not bothered! I did this the last time the promo was on and so now I have 4 colours, just 2 to get! Lol! :T

Cheaper and healthier than the meal and without the chavs/non english speaking staff.

Its only a free glass so why get worked up over it, before you order your meal just ask if they have the glasses in stock and what colours, simples

I went one better last year, had a friend who works for them give me a box full of glasses after last years promotion ended.

Ihave no room for the new promotion. Just wait til the craze is over then ask for the mountain of leftovers.

I agree with the Op in that they should have been giving some kind of credit note, so they could claim the glasses once they had more in stock. Although the offer may be subject to availability, I would consider that to mean that once the offer had totally run out.

I don't regard this as reserving stock for the Op ahead of other customers as someone has suggested, but to give them a chance of going in at a time when the glasses may be available without having to purchase further meals, competing EQUALLY with all other customers.

Yes, the simple solution from now on would be to check before ordering, but it's all so easy to be wise after the event.

And to most, they may be tacky items that aren't worth getting worked up over, but maybe the Ops had kids who were very much looking forward to getting a glass. And then there's the principle of the matter ...

Funny thing is, last year, my o/h and I walked into Windsor McD's because we refused to pay, like, £10 for two hotdogs in Lego Land. We didn't even know there was a promotion for glasses, but got them with our order anyeway. I still have mine sitting next to my monitor. Never actually used it, but was quite pleased to get something free.

The thing with limited supply offers is they ARE limited, so all you can do, really, is ask if something is available before ordering.

We got a few the other day. They are really nice glasses. Worth more than the meal probably. ALl those saying McDonalds food is rubbish we all know you love a quater pounder really.
