Quite a few smart !!!!!! on here saying she should have asked in advance for the glasses, but one presumes the promotional flyers were still up at the Mcdonalds, so therefore one woudl assume the offer is still on.

One would assume, whether an offer is still on or not, that the supply of glasses is finite.

The moral is, Mcdonalds is sh*te!
    better places, better standards
It is hardly a moral is it, if the OP wants to eat their then that is their perogative, stop being such a coc
I would like to think I would never get so worked up about a free glass
When then why bother posting. OP felt entitled and was peed off they never got what they expected so is well within their rights to rant

If you were so vexxed, I would have cancelled the order straight away.
Hardly that easy when there are six persons decided on eating there now is it?

    How is this a grabbit?

I would have cancelled the order too, but then I wouldn't buy the rubbish they sell unless I was really hungry and no where else to go
So what if you would not eat their each to their own. Another prize knobjockey with !!!! all useful to say

but they're not free are they, you had to pay extra for a large meal where as after your were happy with just a regular.

Now me i like McD but 6 meals just for you seems a bit much :)
OP didnt say they wanted regular in the first place and why not pay extra for the glasses the extra is neglible

Yeah, what you actually need to do is order the food, pay for it, eat it, then jump in a time machine to before the payment and refuse to pay because the glasses aren't there.

OR, you could go and BUY a glass.

    ;-)

    OP

what do you expect from mcdonalds, its not exactly a top range place to eat
Regardless whether it is the Groucho which you will probably never experience or McDonalds the OP has paid and has an expectaion. Get back to Tesco you donk
I agree, I think you probably need to sort your priorities out if some free coke glasses cause you so much upset!
You dont know the OP their priorities are probably in place and you know no different nor are qualified to make such a statement#

So many spiteful clueless knobs on here that have !!!! all better to do than to judge others you all need to get a !!!!!!! life.

But you don't know so you can't assume people did see any local flyers.

Last sunday, 4 days into heavily advertised promotion, I ordered 6 large meals but was told no glasses were available

    They're about £4 each aren't they?

The amount of glasses I could buy from a Supermarket for £24!

In other words if you need glasses.......................
  • if promotion still going on, and they have posters etc on display, surely thats misleading, if not illegal?

hardly worth going to court over, but i would let their head office know, along wth local trading standards..?

Nope because I bet it will have a disclamier. Trading Standards will be well !!!!ed off if they have to look at a sign only to find it has a disclaimer on it.
  • First time I have posted and cannot believe how many people are so RUDE!

To clarify, I had been to a family wedding in Wales, 6 people travelling in 2 cars. Had a very light lunch and by the time I reached home territory we were all very hungry. I visit McDonalds approx once a year and Sunday was very convenient. 1 carload went to shop for milk whilst I went to McDonalds so it was not that simple to cancel order as I would have needed to phone others to discuss alternatives etc.

for gods sake, I just thought others might find info useful.

My kids were really keen on the glasses but we won't be getting them as I am not prepared to give McDonalds any more of my money.

You say you only go once a year anyway.
  • i meant to say they are bating people with idea of getting a free gift if they buy large(r) meal..

but if therre is none left, ALL promo material should be removed, or maybe even a sign sayng 'no glasses left' put up?

it would take seconds to do.. and may even earn them an extra star..
