I wonder why they are no longer taking the mitchums then? It is still sa dependent as evidenced by my shop and still scans through the till, but the supervisor said it was the one they had received notification not to accept.

Maybe she was just bs-ing me because it doesn't look like a proper couponnet type coupon iyswim

My husband used a mitchum voucher in Tesco's this evening wirth no problem

thank you for confirming that, but I didnt have the bottle to hand it in today though as I got my worst ever SA who examined every single coupon , examined them again and then queried them! there was a big queue forming behind me so I just gave her a few normal MOC's and finished!!

Go for it before the weekend is out, even a bad SA should know that these are indeed OK - they are more likely to take these than other mocs IMHO.

BTW they will still scan even if you don't spend the minimum, and before or after the dates stated, so don't bin any of them. ;)

Anyone used Waitrose in Otley near Leeds.

Just wondered what their coupon policy was.
  • i work in the cash office of a large extra store and one of the reasons why it is at the managers discretion is simply because cuponing is causing lots of problems in certain stores

there are stores that have no problems but then there are stores, in particular those in less affluent areas that have problems with customers presenting 30+ different coupons in one transaction causing queues at checkouts and at the same time disgruntling other customers. there is also the issue around photocopied coupon net coupons - there are lots of greedy people out there - we throw hundreds of copied unique coupons away a week because we know we wont get the money for them and the biggest thing as to why we had to move away from the policy and start placing restrictions ie - 10% of the total bill was simply because we reached a point where for several weeks our store was taking more on coupons than we were on CASH!

Around 70% of the money we take is on card the rest being on cash and coupons - we reached a point where on some days 20% of our takings were on coupons. in the cash office we would often process 500+ coupons per till per day

i dont think you all realise just how many of you are using coupons to your advantage!!!!!

I used my Tesco coupons today and the SA scrutiised the receipt to check I had bought the items (I had) then he signed each coupon before putting them in the till.

My tesco will not take coupons unless the item has been purchased and even then we are made to feel like thieves.

I feel we are one of the less affluent areas. It's not fair that those who have money are allowed to save money but the poor can't.

I get a much better deal shopping on line.

    Xmas Saver!
I think the coupon policy depends on each store, ours was normal, then 10%, now back to normal, inc internet coupon, if it doubt check at customer services desk, or ask the checkout assistant. x

Thanks for your input, very useful to have the point of view of someone in a cash office at Tesco. Please forgive me for my questions! :D

But I don't get why you would thow away coupons 'you know you won't get the money back on'? How do you know they are duplicates? Surely you are not throwing them away just because they are printed in black & white?

I don't copy Couponnet coupons BTW, never would - but am interested to know why a cash office would make the decision that they are copies? Are you sure you are not throwing away normal mocs that you could redeem, as some of my couponing friends use b&w printouts?

I am a serious couponer but rarely hold up the queue with my 40 or 50 coupons. I warn the person about to go behind me that I pay in coupons which will take 5 minutes...and nine times out of ten off they go (their choice if they stay behind me).

And surely you never take more in coupons than in cash at a Tesco Extra. That really makes me wonder, sorry, perhaps you could elaborate with more detail as I cannot believe this. It seems totally unbelieveable, forgive me if I wrong, but IMHO lots of customers pay in cash and very few in mocs (unless you are counting Tesco Reward Vouchers in your sums which isn't the same thing of course).

It is Sundays. As far as I'm aware it was a £3 last Sunday, and a £5 one tomorrow http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/
