well luckily for me, I didnt get the old trout, but the lovely young girl that couldnt have given two hoots what I handed to her;) shopping came to £32 and I used both the £3 off coupons and a variety of other MOC's and ended up paying £12 - so £20 free shopping, very happy bunny!!:D0 -
Hello I am new to coupons and I have a small tesco express where I live, Can I use vouchers if the little express doesn't stock the item but a big Tescos does please?
I have printed off the page on the voucher thread from Tesco, is this what I show them if they decline to take them?
Thanks for your time.
I work in a tesco express store and we raise this question all the time - as a group of stores we are told that we should accept cupons for items that are stocked in that particular store however all others are at the discretion of the manager on duty at the time.
Its not often to get away with it if you have a store that refuses them - most of these stores only have a manager and two or three staff in them at any one time so the manager is never far away lol
As for the sheet with the policy on this would just get laughed at and would encourage any manager to refuse you use of coupons if you try to tell them that they are in the wrong - the policy has always stated that the acceptance of coupons for items not purchased is always at the final discretion of the manager0 -
hi everyone
I am hoping someone will know the answer to these two questions please?? the MOC that were in the Tesco So Beautiful magazine (£2 off rembrant and £2 off Revlon) - do you have to buy the product or not? and also I have just received some Nectar £3 off a £30 spend vouchers, can I definately use those in Tesco?
many thanks in advance!0 -
Hi Nic
You can't use the Revlon and Rembrandt...I asked yesterday. You have to buy the product. Don't know about the nectar one sorry

Hi, I was in the Aylesbury Tescos this morning and had £3 worth of coupons (all items that that Tescos stocked) but the SA called the manager over, and he told me they couldn't accept coupons if you didn't buy the items they were for, and it was a new policy come in.
So I went to Waitrose, who happily took them.
I got told the same by Sainsbury in Apsley last week when I tried to use coupons (again just a small amount)
Is anyone else having difficulty? I tried different tills in both Tesco and Sainsbury as had to go back for other items, and got told the same thing by different SAs.
At least Waitrose still seem to be taking them. (for the moment)0 -
Sainsburys have not accepted coupons without buying the right product, for years. They don't have that policy at all so never try it there.
Waitrose & Tesco should both accept some at the moment (until they follow Asda's lead - hope not!!). Sounds like you were unlucky with the SA, Andromeda - I would have asked a for a Supervisor as some cashiers try to make their own life easy by refusing mocs, whereas most Supervisors will OK them.
And in answer to your query about Sainsburys Nectar vouchers, nikinackyloo, YES you can definitely use your spend & save vouchers £3 off £30 at Tesco as long as they are just that: '£3 off a £30 spend' or £5 off £50 spend' etc. Not £3 off a £30 spend on tu clothing/electricals/homeware or anything else specific, and never £1 off wine or whatever, from the coupons in the back of Sainsbury's magazine.
Some Tesco staff don't know that they can accept other Supermarkets' spend & saves but most of them will know. Don't let an uninformed SA tell you that you can't use one because Tesco have accepted them for years and still do!
They accept all other Supermarkets' spend & save vouchers (as long as they have a scanning barcode, are in date - and you should spend the required amount).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks.
It was a Tesco supervisor that told me I had to buy the product to get the voucher off and that it was a new policy come in, so I was wondering whether they were following Asdas lead.

Could be a store specific policy, I haven't heard such shocking news from my local Tesco stores yet and I was in both of them this morning!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I just thanked her and said you have tried your best and at least some went through. Has any one had problems with these going through
Mitchum green and white
heinz jar
douwe coffee
cow n gate
i am buying things for the children in school for snack/ themed days etc to make it more interesting for them so i try to buy a little each day without spending much of my own money so any help appreciated.
Thanks
Has anyone else noticed that T have stopped a lot of their value range and brought in a more expensive supposedly value range which often contains less by wieght if you check the packaging and in my opinion is not as good as their value i.e. quiche, oven chips, prawns, sauces, crumpets, biscuits, vegetab les, salad etc
I have saved more by changing supermarkets to buy their value products than I did with coupons
Plus they have not had such good offers with the BOGOF either for quite a while so again better savings at other supermarkets anyway0 -

thank you for confirming that, but I didnt have the bottle to hand it in today though as I got my worst ever SA who examined every single coupon , examined them again and then queried them! there was a big queue forming behind me so I just gave her a few normal MOC's and finished!!0
