Just to add to LovelyLisa's post to find the daily newspaper thread (which changes on a daily basis).... use the search function in the green toolbar above and enter "newspaper summary" and search under "forums"....choose the (usually top) post with todays date on it. or use http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/searchStop.php?searchstring=newspaper+summary&type =chat&x=20&y=16
the magazine thread is also linked from the first post in the daily newspaper thread.

Tried to go through TCs checkout on two separate occasions, with coupons of course. Was stopped the second tme by superisor who loudly told me that it is policy that coupons can't be used twice by the same customer in one day!! ummmm

I would agree with the Supervisor. :o

It's been said before that a second visit per day with the same nss coupons can be seen as coupon abuse as it's getting around the 'one of each' policy.

Equally dodgy is splitting your shopping into more than one transaction, in order to use the same manufacturers' coupons again at that store. I have heard this from Till Managers when I first started couponing - you live and learn as I must admit I did split a transaction once or twice at first but that was a couple of years ago.

But not any more, I just collect more coupons or top up with eBay-bought ones, or just visit two different Tesco stores if I need more stuff the same day. Another way around it would be to shop with another adult who is confident enough to use their own batch of coupons at a separate till without calling you over or needing you to follow them in the queue as back-up. If they are genuinely a different customer there's not much they can do about that - but even then I would do so very quietly, not even walk out together etc!

BTW it's OK to split your shopping per se (e.g. to separate stuff bought for work/a relative/or to use more than one conditional spend voucher on it's own for each batch). But not OK to do so to use a second batch of the same manufacturers' coupons - that's fairly obviously against the spirit of the policy IMHO.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Mad splits his shop where possible. In fact on one occassion the TA has shuffled around stuff for me so I paid the least:T

Not able to do it all the time but it makes up for when I get any MOC's refused due to spurious reasons i.e. "I can't take this coupon because it doesn't say how much it'll take off" (e.g. old mitchum 50% 0ff MOC)

Was told once that I couldn't visit more than once in a day. Customer services manager saw me come in again and waited for me to go to the till. Said he'd have to refuse my coupons as I had already visited once. Told him I hadn't used coupons on my first visit

Mad was just wondering how Mrs. T, Josie, Gratefulone and Honey are. Also, anyone else that is "ghosting" come and say "HI"!

Thanks for your prompt mm5. I have had time off for Christmas and return to work tomorrow and keep looking in to see how all my MSE friends are on this thread. Had a good Christmas thanks to T's generous coupon policy and the kind sharing of fellow MSE'ers. However, I cannot print coupons from couponnet (my laptop doesn't let me install it) so am down to £1.45 in internet coupons. Any knowledge of legit pdf coupons would be much appreciated. In the meantime, every little helps. Happy couponning everybody.

PS Anyone heard from our lovely Edna lately?

    Hi Grateful:j

Could be a number of things stopping you install the coupon printer. If you're running Opera it's a no no, doesn't support that at all. You may have your settings set too high in internet explorer (not a bad thing) and consequently won't install. In firefox it's tempermental, again depending on your settings. A quick fix would be to download the latest version of internet explorers' latest edition. Albeit it's a beta version (not fully tested) you can easily revert back to the previous install if things don't work out.

    HTH,

MM errr 5 I think xxx

Has anyone tried to use the Bodyform coupon recently, I tried to use this one today and the assistant noticed it says it expires 30.11.09 in one place and 30.11.08 in another. I hadnt noticed this myself and have used several since Nov 08, does anyone know the correct expiry date.

    emmamed wrote: »
the body form one seems to have been tampered with, the expiry was nov 08.

The expiry was november. The coupon had two dates, it wasn't fiddled with in anyway, it came like that so Bodyforms error ;)

Since the retailer needs to submit it by 28th February 2009, I think we can safely say that it should have ended when it says at the bottom " To the customer: ...(in bold) Valid until 30th November 2008."
Your store will possibly review their whole generous coupon policy (at the manager's discretion!) if they lose money on this!
Perhaps the short term gain for 40p isn't really worth it!

Be careful of using several coupons from Pigsback. They sent me a message last year by email and threatened action although I had not used more than one per shop each week.. I replied stating that I did not do anything wrong intentionally and they reinstated my membership.

Has anyone managed to confirm the rules lately. My store insists its still ONE coupon per day.

They even sit and read ALL the wording on an moc of 20p
