Lisa I think you are obviously upset about this (You have posted in quite a few places!) Unfortunately this sort of thing happens and I'm sure nobody is blaming you etc so don't beat yourself up about it! What started bells ringing in my head was the fact that it had a pipex web address so I was suspicious straight away. I then looked for the product on the T's site and MySupermarket without success. The site you quoted also did not contain a list of stockists either. Luckily these sites do not appear too often so I think any thread would soon be well lost unless 'sticky' and they are not generally available. As a last resort try Googling them and see if there are any clues there........ Again I think you have just been unlucky in trying to be helpful :A m4rtin
Hi Martin, I am not upset and find it a bit patronising for you assume that. I posted on Non-Chat - then realised it was the wrong place and would be deleted immediately - "No Chat means NO Chat of course!!...." But I wished to respond to you - so did so on the Chat thread. I then also posted in PTS in response to Coupon Mads post. However what does upset me is everytime I try and post something on here in good faith I seemed to get attacked for some reason or another. This site is particulary bad for that - PTS is much more polite and supportive in general.
I think I have made a valid suggestion to create a blacklist on this thread next to latest coupons - as what is to stop this happening again and again with more Newbies that aren't so lucky as know everything there is to know about coupons and actually HAVE a life..Coupons Rock! :j0 -

Both internet explorer and firefox have filters that can determine whether a web-site is legitimate.
However, you should be running anti-virus, anti spyware and a firewall as minimum. Try running AVG it's free and updates regularly throughout the day. It will check a web-site (before you click the link) to see if it contains any threats. A firewall has a number of preventative measures to stop your computer from coming under attack.
If you're shopping on-line, before giving out your card details you should make sure that the site is secure. You can check this in the address bar where the web address should start with https: (s, being for secure). Also, at the bottom of the page you will notice a padlock symbol.
Finally, make sure you run a registry cleaner on a regularly basis. This helps to search for hijacked software and can speed your pc up too.

Thanks MM5 but I do have full AVG coverage etc and it did not alert me to this site as it is only when you have registered with your email and start to get spam (and no coupons!) that you realise and then it is too late. You are correct in saying that AVG will help to protect my computer from susequent viruses and sort some of the spam but some other person may have registered and not had the correct protection and that would cause their computer alot of damage. Hence placing a blacklist on the first post on this thread with any "known" dodgy sites? I understand new sites pop up all the time but this one has been around for apparently atleast two years!...Coupons Rock! :j0 -

I have to say that is a bit uncalled for you have asked for advice and Martin has tried to provide some and I can't really see what in his reply has caused you to respond in that way. I remember when you first joined and asked a question which I responded to with advice and you started to send me some rather unplesant PM's.
All the regulars in this thread are helpful we try to find coupons to post and chat about no-one has a hidden agenda, looks down on anyone, nor are there any cliches.
I think you need to take peoples advice at face value I am sure no offence was meant.AKA: PC

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but so is Martin. Surely we should be uniting in these times of hardship not fighting eachother;)
That said Lovely Lisa referring to fellow MSEs as "it" and "you lot" is hardly going to portray an all for one and one for all philosophy
As the post I was referring to seems to have been removed mine now obviously makes no sense (if it did in the first place!!)0 -

Hi Mad
I don't know how I missed your post cos I check this thread faithfully every day. But thanks for enquiring after my good health. (LOL!). I'm still here...watching...reading...occasionally smiling wryly. Still loving this forum no matter what small tensions float about now and again!

FWIW, Potages Du Monde is the only website I can remember which was as blantant as to completely make up a fake product and promise coupons that don't exist. Can anyone think of another similar one as I can't?
My pc didn't pick it up when I registered on it either, LovelyLisa. I think I got spam emails as a result but it didn't continue for long as far as I recall. I had forgotten about it TBH but it's good to mention it again as one to avoid.
I wasn't aware of the pipex email being a hint of a dodgy website (as mentioned by m4rtin) - I have never heard of pipex?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Pipex were one of the first major UK ISP's. I was with them for several years but luckily I escaped about a year ago (That is another long tortuous story!!) Anyway when I was with them their forums were always complaining of users using their 'web space' for naughty things, not generally coupons but one scam or another - I just saw the pipex in the url and didn't think any major company would use a pipex address! - All I was trying to get across to LL was that it is thankfully a rare occurance so forget about it........:p Have a good [STRIKE]Tesc[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Asd[/STRIKE]WHO? day - Err....I still wish Mozzies had a better website even though they are now on MyS!
:p :rotfl:;)
