Bit worried now, I know I'm supposed to be trying to get it off but I tried to get it to heat up again first to make sure I wasn't left with it stuck off again. And it isn't heating up again...

Don't worry - it will not fire immediately - it is either too hot or has an anti-cycling delay - your boiler is working fine. PM me if you want my number and I can talk you through it if you have any more problems.0 -

Yea I put the switch back on. And it's not flashing at all, I think it has died on me again.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

Turn the boiler off using the selector knob - downwards position. Turn the ch selector switch to bottom - permanently on. Turn the ch temperature control to fully clockwise - maximum temperature. Now turn to boiler to winter operation - fully anti-clockwise.
What does it do?
You have no future in boilering btw
