forgive me here - but all this was utterly unnecessary - OP said that 2 minutes after she signed her tenancy agreement the gas guy phoned her to make an appointment to come and do the CORGI cert - if she had bothered to respond none of this would have happened - he would have come, shown her how to use the boiler and hey presto .........

"""I'm to phone the guy to come out and do the checks actually,"" - so why didn't you do that a month ago ?
Sorry Clutton - it needs a clear acknowledgement on here IMO - it is the LL's responsibility to arrange to provide a current gas safety certificate to the Tenant before they sign the Tenancy Agreement, let alone before they move into the property.

A decent professional LL/LA would also leave a straightforward numbered list of how exactly to operate the heating/hot water system if they really couldn't be ar*ed to go and show the tenant in person.

And you would think that since she has been on the phone to the LA every day this week about it, that would quit being awkward with her and just go out and show her how to work the god damned thing!!

Or why didn't the LL leave clear instructions for her about how to work it when he was here today. She didn't even know he had been until she phoned the LA back later today and they said, he's been and it's working cos he "flicked a switch". Whatever switch he "flicked" she can't find cos now she can't get it off. She even switched off what she thought was the power supply to it, but it is still on now.

I have just downloaded the install details and the boiler is very simple. To turn off the heating turn the middle rotary switch so it points to the tap symbol. If this doesn't work turn the knob to the left of the timeswitch all the way anti-clockwise.

P.S. your boiler is slightly different. Turn the knob on the left of the green neon clockwise - this is hot water only

You must have downloaded the same guide as what I have here, it's all different :(

Isn't the knob on the left of the light already turned clockwise?

Nope, it's pointing towards ch+hw fully anti-clockwise.I think those symbols are meant to mean winter and summer.

So it's to go to the icon that looks like a sun? :rotfl: sorry, I know, I know, I'm hopeless. The heaters have turned right down at the moment but I think that could be because of the control to the right of the light, I turned that down... there is still a little bit of heat coming out though.

Oh I just seen the winter and summer comment, I did wonder about the icons. Okay I've turned it, lets see if that works :)

Your timeswitch selector is set to "on" this means the boiler will fire all the time. Move it to the middle position - automatic.

The switch is to the right of the rotary dial.

You will still need to setup the tappets / cams to suit yourself.

The user manual is available from th vokera site, I think you have the SE version and not the HE.
