can you ask a neighbour where their meter is as yours might be in the same place or ring the utility company up as I suggested previously and ask them where the meter is, they usually keep a record of such info.
Sorry, just trying to think of anything to help.0 -
I don't know, we can't find the meter. But I doubt it, and it starting up last night for a while...
Phoned the LA again and they have been trying to phone the LL who isn't answering his phone. I'm going to go nuts at someone very soon.
The meter reading, if not on prepaid, should have been included in the inventory list?0 -
It's worth saying at this point, quite loudly
It's nothing to do with the gas!
There, I've said it now.0 -
If the central heating is on a timer have you checked the clock time is set correctly?0

I set the time properly last night, but it can't be to do with the timer because the hot water should still fire up whenever I turn a hot tap on and it doesn't. I should also have a green light and I don't.It's worth saying at this point, quite loudly

It's the boiler that isn't working, isn't it? Does it matter about the meter?Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0

Since the LL failed to show up last night, can you not phone the LA and request that if you call out a plumbler for a faulty boiler, will they reimburse you?
Worth a try?
I would but I don't have the money to pay it in the first place

I phoned the LA again. Aparantly the LL has been in and fixed it. I asked what was wrong, he said it wasn't broken, he just flicked a switch and it went on! I flicked every switch and it wasn't going on!Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0
