Too many spiders

Ugh - beginning to wish i hadnt asked about spiders after all now. Too many freaky spider stories.
Its a fairly new house, and we dont have any gaps at doors/windows (unless they are open, duh!), so I dont know how they are all getting in. maybe they are getting in via the attic? Seem to be more of them upstairs that downstairs.
Also, I am going to have a wee word with the spider who has chosen to make its web in the top corner of the cupboard where we hang our coats. There is no way it is going to catch any flies in there. Maybe thats a good thing, as then it will stay little.Threadhead0 -

I usually catch them in a wine glass, and scoop them over with a piece of card. Then they go outside and are told "dont come back" (my mum told me it works...)
But the last giant one was too big for even a PINT glass. After a couple of minutes of "you get it" "no, you get it" with OH, I eventually got the hoover out ....Threadhead0 -
Ah but if you hoover them up, I'm convinced that they grow bigger and bigger inside the hoover......and creep back out somehow.......
I'm so scared of spiders!!!!!Are we still waiting to sing as hummingbirds?0 -
just stand on them then0

I had a massive white spider outside my front door a week ago. It's body was massive. I got a shoe and smacked it one. You know how when you hit a spider it kind of squashes them well this one POPPED. Thats just disgusting0

I really hate spiders. I've found the best thing for them is the Yellow Pages or the Argos catalogue. Also Ant killer spray sometimes works.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

in boots they have a nifty little gadget designed to hoover them up (safely i think) in a little pink flower shaped vac, collect them in a cup attatched to the end and let them out wherever you like! thinking of getting one myself , suppose it works with all creepy crawlies if you can catch them!

I'm so scared of spiders, even the words 'Google Spider Link' in Squeaky's post make me feel shivery!Debt free date: October 2006 :money:0 -
I am still brushing air off my shoulders!
I HATE spiders, or anything with eight legs. Or looks like it has eight legs. *shiver*. I live near woods and all sorts come to visit. I get really upset and my OH gets annoyed at having to deal with them. Such a hero.
I get my dog to deal with them, except she does play with the curled up mess a little too long. And I also believe they live on inside the hoover. And if you let them live - they come back with reinforcements.

I have found those little vacumn things they sell to be useless. They don't have enough 'oomph' and the little buggers just cling on. Hairspray is a classic of course (has to be the nasty cheap stuff and you need to give them a good spray with it). I went on this course to cure my spider phobia and the guy who ran it said death by hairspray was always a popular choice!0
