  • AnnieBL - I'll be happy to hire him out - he's a whizz at hoovering and dusting, makes mean omelettes and pancakes, but will eat you out of house and home :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

In that case, thanks for the offer. I already have one 6 footer DS eating me out of house and home so could do without another. :D Though, I think I may just ask my own DS to hoover the staircase while I am at w**k. :D That will make his day.

Catowen you did fabulously well with your Harrods card. Must have felt like Christmas came early while you were shopping.

floss2 Am I right in thinking your refer to your partner/spouse as DF?? Just wondered what that stood for as I would normally think Dear Friend.

    Morning Chums,
weather started a bit grey and damp but it seems to be perking up a bit,at least the sun is trying to come out. I managed to finally get all my holiday washing almost dry yesterday by flying backwards and forwards with it on and off the line .So now have a huge pile of ironing to wade through this afternoon. I have a Dexa scan this morning at the hospital. As I have been put on Arimidex it apparently does have a side effect of thinning the bones,so I will need a scan every year for the next five years that I am on it .
So it's a cuppa and the crossword down at the hospital this morning whilst I wait.
Then home to do battle with the ironing mountain. I will hopefully watch all the things I missed on T.V. last week on catchup t.v. whilst I am doing it.
<<hugs to those in need >> and a big smiley face to the rest of you .Have a good week folks

  • Morning everyone - hope today finds you in good spirits and good health! I know a lot of people are going through a tough time and to those I send extra good thoughts for today.

Sunshine again today so I am determined to get out into the garden as my OH doesn't work this afternoon and can help me out. I am trying to ignore the fact that the clouds might just be gathering over to the east...

Happy Birthday to Tired Mum and Miss Diddly:beer:

Ageandjo - Good Luck for OH at the hospital.

Big hugs for Smoky, PennyPincher, Jayward, Chrisca, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth, andof course Annie and Mark and Kaat-lady.

Big-Bird - here is the recipe

    1 pint vinegar
    1lb demerara sugar
    1 lb. chopped green tomatoes
    1 lb. chopped cooking apples
    ½ lb. chopped sultanas
    ¼ lb. chopped onions
½ lb. sugar (granulated is fine)
    ½ tsp ground ginger
    Pinch of salt
1 chilli finely chopped (You can skip this if you want a more traditional recipe)
    • Put the vinegar and demerara sugar in a pan and heat gently until sugar melts.
    • Add all the other ingredients
    • Bring mixture to boil and cook slowly stirring all the time until it thickens.
It's ready when you can pull a wooden spoon across the bottom of the pan and the line you make stays clean.

I do have another one, but can't find the peice of paper with it on so will post later on for you.

I fancy making the tortilla wrap layer thing I read on here a while ago but have no idea where it was so my job this morning is to try and find it again... If not, I will do a lasagne, we have everything in for that so another NSD which will be great.

hope everyone has the best day they can

    Diva. x

CharliesMum, I must try & have a go at playing that on FB – is it easy to do (not to win, but the technicalities of playing?)

It is really easy to play, if you are online later, I will try to start a game with you if you like

    Morning.

22nd consecutive day of rain here. The forcast means that should continue and could mean all of August will be wet. I am sick of it.

2 weeks off, so I am watching the olympics and eating. I am off to get some paint shortly and will reonovate an old kitchen dresser. Should look nice. Better painted than stripped i think.

    Have a nice day,,,
