    Morning All

Whatawit - yes that is Monkey - I used to love that programme.

Ageandjo - Good Luck for OH at the hospital.

Wet and horrible start here today, am going to check the weather forcast as we are meant to be going to London today, I dont mind a bit of rain but not constant. If we do go we are going on the Original Sightseeing tour courtesy of Mr T. There are 4 tours and you hop on and off all day so we plan to spend the day travelling around getting off whever we fancy.

Other than that no plans today, have budgeted to eat out and we are hoping to try Wagamamas.

However if we dont go my day will consist of paperwork all day long.

Had a nice day yesterday with people coming over, only 2 weeks till the kids go back - is still going quickly.

Have a great day and (((hugs))) where needed.

  • Good morning everyone  We had a lovely (and dry :D ) weekend :j Got loads done in the garden: a trip to the nursery for more plants; picking tomatoes, courgettes, beans, herbs, salad, cucumbers, aubergine; harvesting onions, garlic, shallot and potatoes.

It's raining now. We are supposed to go away for a long weekend on Friday. We'll be "holidaying at home" if this continues

Our town had its first Farmers' Market yesterday. DH and I got there shortly after it opened and bought some mutton    delicious local cheese, spicy dip and chutney. We also had our first taste of ostrich - underwhelmed by that :o

DD is away with friends today (she slept out last night) so DS and I will be sprucing the house. AnnieBL - I'll be happy to hire him out - he's a whizz at hoovering and dusting, makes mean omelettes and pancakes, but will eat you out of house and home :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:starmod: :staradmin :starmod: :staradmin Happy Birthday to Tired Mum :staradmin :starmod: :staradmin :starmod:

HG veg quiche and HG plum crumble for supper.

    Old Style jobs for today:
    • make quiche and crumble
    • dust and hoover upstairs
    • clean sinks and bath
    • book chimney sweep
I'm sure there are more - off to check my list........

Edit - Happy Birthday to Miss Diddly :bdaycake:

Have a great day, Penny. x

  • Morning all,

Raining here today – N9eav has obviously had enough after 3 weeks of it & sent it this way…

Snowy, thanks for the answer – sounds like a lovely idea, to formally be able to remember, but shame about the weather L
Catowen, wow sounds like you did incredibly well with your card – must have been a brilliant experience. Glad the whole break was enjoyable & you got to meet up with shez.
Kathy, don’t worry about making mistakes starting the thread, we’ll let you off J (anyway, I thought you were an expert..!!!)
Whatatwit, although I’m not the slightest bit bothered about watching the Olympics, it is nice to have see on the news how well we’re doing, and the happy feelings spreading about because of that.
CharliesMum, I must try & have a go at playing that on FB – is it easy to do (not to win, but the technicalities of playing?)
Dazi, can you help me find the link for the handbag organiser pattern….? (not that I’m thick or anything….). And how do you add extra little smilies & where do you get them from?????
Ageandjo, good luck to your OH later, that sounds a bit worrying, hope all is clear for him.

Happy Birthday TiredMum :bdaycake: Have a lovely day..

Not sure what the plan for the daytime is yet – it will depend on middle DD’s wishes as she is 15 today!!! J She seems a bit down the past few days, so hopefully she’ll feel brighter today. My sis & little niece are coming over from Bognor a bit later, to stay for a couple of days too, so that will also be lovely. We’re off to the Harvester for dinner later though J
She also wants me to go & BUY a birthday cake - she wants a Dora the Explorer one.... (yes, I did say 15, not 5....??)

Have a couple of people collecting some more freecycle stuff this morning by about 10, & then need to go & pick up a bag of dried cat food from the rescue centre where mine came from (it’s a prescription one & they’d already ordered it before I got them, so I said I’d have it, makes life easier).

Have a good day all & ((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) for all those needing them.

Happy Birthday to Miss Squiggly and tired mum!!! Hope you each have a great day.

Heading to w**k early today as I need to leave early to take DS to orthodontist. Then we are all going to the gym. With any luck I might just get DS's school trousers and shirts when we are town today. That would be great as it would mean that all he needs now are new shoes. DD needs a few things more so I will sort those out this week too.

Made Betheebee's spicy carrot and tomato soup yesterday. I had two bowlsful for lunch. Yummy. Plenty left over for dinner today too. AND it freed up some space in the freezer. So all round, a great result. :j

Have a marvellous Monday all. xx

Good luck at the hospital, Ajeando.

The rain has actually stopped here, the sky is turning blue and the dark clouds are disappearing - how long it will last is anyone's guess!

DH has just left for work so I need to get the house hoovered and dusted and the veggies prepped for dinner. I'm doing sausages, onions and bubble-and-squeak potato cakes in the Remoska but I don't think I'll get it all in in one go so I'll have to do the sausages first and keep them warm in the main oven (which hasn't been on for a while!) while the potato cakes cook.

I am also going to the gym this morning; I haven't been for ages becauise it's been so busy here lately but I'm still paying £29 a month so I can't waste it any longer. Heaven knows how I'll feel once I've been!

This afternoon, if I'm not aching too much, I need to get into the office and do some proper work.

Anyway, must go and dry my hair.

    See you all later.

    Good morning all :)

I've not posted here for ages, hope no one minds my joining in again.

I've got loads of washing to get done today - a good 4/5 loads. It has been raining for days and I keep putting off the washing till a good day so I can dry it outdoors, but it hasn't stopped raining! The next few days of forcast is for rain and mount laundry is starting to invade upstairs, so I'm just going to have to fill the airing cupboard / hang damp washing everywhere around the house :)

We went foraging yesterday and I have loads of apples to make into cider / wine and lbs and lbs of blackberries to get washed and frozen. Think I will pop out and get some vodka later so that some of the blackberries can be used to flavour it - with an idea of decanting it into smaller bottles for Christmas pressies.

Also got some sewing projects I want to get finished today - a couple of drawstring bags and a draught excluder.

Dinner tonight is chick pea curry and rice, probably with sweetcorn on the side! I know it sounds odd, but we have masses of sweetcorn at the allotment so we are eating it with everything at the moment!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

I'm out with a friend today & then back to work tomorrow, though I don't have to start til 9, I'll probably go in at 8, earlier I start the earlier I can finish.
The trellis is up & looks good, we have a honeysuckle & a clematis to grow up it.
Sorry about the comments on your thread Annie, I got a b*ll*cking on here once for calling my children, kids, I was told I wasn't a nanny goat. Some people just have to be unpleasant.
BIL is definately getting ready to move on, he's ordered furniture etc.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
