SSL how ridiculous that they have asked you to take down the Serenity prayer! What other things do people put up/have to take down

Um...well I have photos of nights out, thank you cards and a poster saying 'prepare your daughter for work, give her less pocket money than your son. 30 years on from the Equal Pay Act, women are still being paid less than men' (or words to that effect). I thought if anything, that might be offensive. So I have taken everything down. What I was thinking about was getting a Jewish prayer, an Islamic prayer and anything else DD can come up with (she's studying RE). Surely no one can object if I'm covering the main religions? Then again, I may take out a grievance that I'm being discriminated against because I'm a Christian.

When I think about some of the pics we're put up in the station (away from the public obviously) Ancient pics to embarrass people on their 40th, 50th birthdays etc. There are also football pics, fake certificates etc etc

SSl i onced lived in a house which had been converted into two flats, i lived in the top one for 5 yrs and when the bottom one came up for rent i moved down there for 2 yrs. The bottom one was much nicer but everyone thought i was mad. Giving my new address to people when i was changing things over really confused them;) . Also in the same street my neighbours moved next door because that house had 3 bedrooms and the other one had 2. I now live in the same village just on the other side.

I totally understand you. I bet you wanted to buy both and return the house to its original state.

Hope you feel better now. I think I might have issued a slap to OH. Or possibly a slap with the paintbrush
  • Luckey so and so RE your kids growing out of their asthma!!!!
May I ask what age they were when they grew outta it!!

I've had Asthma since I was 7 (45 now), had eczema really bad before that but doc told my mum that it runs on a 7 year cycle and when I was about 7 it would change to Asthma (it did) be quite bad at first then calm down a bit by the time I was 14 (it did again) and then every 7 years it would change again, not always really bad, but just change (depends on circumstances, where we live, ect...)

Basically what I am trying to say is, when your kids reach the 7 year cycle, you will probably find they have either grown out of it or they have it for life (again, not always bad so don't worry too much). Either way, you'll have loads of other stuff to worry about with them, I know mine certainly worry the pants off me and that's nothing to do with health... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Quite pleased with myself as I hoovered the whole living room, under everything before sitting down for the evening.

DS1 getting a new brace tomorrow - 5th one so far but he has been on a break since April so not sure how he will feel - only top this time and removeable. I also need to get the kids new trainers/footie boots for the start of term.

Will try to finish the living room before I go.

Vanilla I hope Bo is good through the night and just lays and sleeps

Soappie no post from you so I hope you're ok

Don't tell Mudbath but I go the new I**A catalogue delivered today so off to browse it in bed.

    See you all tomorrow x

pigpen - any news about college? I've been meaning to ask about the interview and how it went. Don't forget to wake up DS1 for his results tomorrow! I shall be taking DD in about 10am. So I'll be flying late again tomorrow.

Other than.. why are you wanting to do THIS course.. with your experience and GCSE grades and the levels you performed at the assessment you should go straight into uni??...

My formal 'interview' I actually got the letter for this morning for next Tuesday but had to cancel it.. I have already cancelled a podiatry appointment as we have DS2 and DD$ at growth clinic that afternoon and rescheduling a hospital appointment is WAY more difficult than rescheduling th eother 2 appointments.. plus mine isn't a health issue whereas the growth thing is.

    Thanks for asking though!

Are ALL the GCSE results through tomorrow??? We are still being told it is next week....:confused::confused:

    Thank you Denisefowler!!

My DD is 6 now but her eczema is so bad, that the doctors are talking about a tar bath!? apparently it will strip the top layer of skin and help encourage regrowth!! Eczema i always thought was the skin cells reproducing at a faster rate!! DD will be 7 in December so i wonder would it be worth waiting until then, she has had eczema since birth....and god knows i have tried everything from diet to faith healers!!
Its horrible, she bleeds every day, there are days that she cant move her feet or legs due to the skin cracking and bleeding/weeping!! The teachers in her school are fighting for a classroom assistant to help her, actually what the are looking for is a scribe, as when her hands flare up she cant hold a pencil without the 'hacks' opening and weeping!! Some Drs have put it down to stress and others say that they have never seen a case so bad in their history as doctors!!

MO4.. they said the same about mine.. by the time I was 10 I didn't have it any more unless I get severely hacked off in which case I just get patches all over that are really itchy.. my mother was also told I'd have asthma and I never have had.
